I am torn between these two trucks, both available by private sellers in my area.

2016 Ford F150 Supercrew Lariat 3.5 Ecoboost 4x4 with 52k miles. -- $34,000
2018 Ford F150 Supercab XLT (Gen 2) 2.7 Ecoboost 2WD with 34k miles. -- $30,000

The power isn't an issue the 2.7 would be sufficient for my needs. What engine is better? What would you do?

Thanks !

As I just recently bought my 4th F-150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost engine, I have nothing but glowing reviews of it. It is one great little engine that has not, to this point, ever let me down. Not a single mechanical issue. Combined on all 4 trucks, approx. 400K miles driven, since 2011. I have zero experience with the 2.7.

Gotta have the 4X4 in the Northeast plus the 3.5. Lariat is a bonus too.

I am about 1.5 hours south of you & have a 2013 loaded black FX2 Supercab 5.0 V-8 with 34,000 miles for sale for $24,000! Perfect inside & out

I've owned a 2017 3.5 ecoboost a 2018 5.0 and now a 2021 with the 2.7 i would say go with the 2.7 with the 10 speed transmission

I just sold a 2019 STX 4x4, 2.7 eco, crew cab with 16k miles for $30,600. That was $300 more than I owed.

Two completely different trucks. I've had both motors and both were great. If you don't need crew and 4x4 I'd go with the 18

5.0 way to go. Express driving? The little 2.7 get no fuel mileage above 68mph. The V8 gets the same as the little one @ 75mph.

I was leaning towards that. I think this is what I needed to hear.
