Bought a used 2021 F150 with a rear airbag system installed… rear rides pretty stiff so trying to identify what airbag system is installed so I can figure out how to inflate/deflate when needed.

The mounts location and bags look to be an Airlift system. Follow the air lines off the top of the bags, they'll either "T" together and run to a single fill valve or run separately, likely to a common location, or a compressor. Most seem to run the lines to the license plate area or under the gas filler door.

If if runs to a compressor and you don't have pressure gauge in the cab, theres a good chance it's bluetooth controlled. You'll probably need to look up the compressor manual and find out how to reset the control module or find out how to pair your phone to it.

Now that I look at your last picture a little closer, I can see the Airlift name molded on the side of the bag. It's probably the loadlifter 5000 plus due to the stainless cups on the top and bottom of the bag.

So looks like the stainless steel lines are run to a fill valve at the license plate (actually replaces the two license plate screws)…..one for each side pretty damn creative.

Ill see what PSI is on the gauge tomorrow in the sunlight and dial back to 5-7psi.

appreciate the help great site

rear rides pretty stiff
Keep in mind that this setup, with its super short air-spring, will likely always ride stiff when inflated. The volume is so small that when under load the air spring curve is progressively super steep.

Looks like it was used for a 5th wheel/Gooseneck? If you can ditch the hitch you can change to one of the better kits with larger air springs (they mount to the side of the frame, where the hitch currently is).

It's a pretty easy job to remove, I just sold my 350 and removed mine in about 1/2 an hour. It's a bit more work to install but a pretty easy job as far as DIY goes. Not sure about the system for the 150 but often they replace the factory bump stops so hopefully they provided you the OEM parts that were removed (if they were)

I have the airlift system on my truck, they do recommend a minimum of 5 psi, however, at 5 psi, it will still ride rougher than if you didn't have them at all. Since the system is manual (no auto compressor) you could run them even lower 2-3 psi and soften the ride a touch more. I have the on board compressor so I can't run less than 5 in mine.

I do really like the improved handling/ride when towing my camper though, I usually run 35-40 psi in them with the camper.
