HELP! Can’t decide on what to order! 2021.

Hey all you other Ford fanatics!
Couple of quick questions.
I’ve been driving myself nuts going back and forth on what to order on my 2021 f150 super crew.
I’ve decided on the XLT 302a Sport… reason being is the 501a has the UGLIEST brownish red trim colors on the inside.

what I’m struggling with is -
Should I get a 2.7… or a 3.5?

ive had a 2015 2.7 which was great, and right now I have a 2018 3.5, which actually gets better mileage than the 2.7 did.
I’m 90-95% city and highway, 5-10% trails, snow, etc. I know you all want to say 2.7 right away.. BUT I do plan on leveling it with 33/34. Will the extra 100lb torque help offset that? And also… with the same stats… if I end up getting a 3.5, should I go with a 3.55 over the 3.31?

First things first. Don't get your hopes up for a 21'. I didnt even think you could still order one. Second the 22' order guide is available on this forum and they have a couple differences. A big one is the black appearance package which will give the xlt leather and also dual exhaust if you go with the 3.5 if youre into that sort of thing. Can't really speak on the engines as I am a 5.0 guy, but reliability wise I've heard the 2.7 is bulletproof for long term ownership.

I personally went 2.7 with the 2.7 payload package for my 2021/2022 order. Mostly 80km/h (50mph) roads with occasional hauling, maybe some light future towing. Didn’t need the 3.5 and couldn’t justify the 3x price hike over the 2.7 engine option.

I know other guys who swear by the 2.7, including a work truck that just hit 230,000 km so I’m pretty confident this will be perfect for my lighter use and desired fuel economy.

If I was planning on towing or hauling more regularly I would have gone with the 3.5.

2.7 is our most popular engine by a mile and it’s all most need. I didn’t do great on the highway with my 2.7 in my 18 but it had plenty of power and did about 19-20 city. 3.5 for highway and more towing power.

true. my sales guy at galpin already told me as much! that's great news though for the black appearance - I normally spend money to have emblems blacked out and chrome deleted anyway!

I previously had a 21 order in, last week had a chat with the dealer and confirmed I could still get my 21 incentives on a 22 and added the black appearance package to the order. As someone previously stated, kind of a bummer the black dual exhaust tips are only on the 3.5, but I couldn’t justify the 3.5 for my needs.
