So do some of you guys really call the tire manufacturer and talk with a tech specialist to get a calculation of what your new ideal tire pressures should be? I'm seeing these comments about setting pressures to the new tires "manufacturer specs" but what the hell does that mean, its not like they publish tables that cover all vehicles, wheel specs, use cases, and curb weights for every tire.

I typically just use the door pressure plus a little extra for mpg, and back off again if the ride is harsh. And of course keep an eye on tire wear patterns. Maybe I'm a simpleton but it works completely fine for me.

Website has specs. Easy to find. Can look at when you are researching tires.

I'm familiar with finding all the tire specifications when researching replacements. TireRack site has excellent tables of data for all tires they carry. But you know what's not there? Recommended pressures to set them at. I still have no idea what you are talking about, are you just making this up....?

I'm typically a good web researcher and I have never seen inflation recommendations from a tire manufacturer. Can you show me?

Welcome Discount Tire. We've been a customer for 20+ years and appreciate the tire rotations, re-balancing, and pressure checks. Thanks for joining the F150 forum.
We're glad to be part of the community! Thank you for your support, Robert!

I'm in the Tampa/St Pete area now.
Thank you for the additional details.

Sadly, I'm not seeing any new stores coming to your area. We have a few coming to Orlando, however this is moot point as the Lakeland store would still be the closest to you.

Welcome aboard. My local DT always follows the pressures I tell them so not sure what others complain of. Never had a single issue that wasn't quickly fixed.
Thanks for the welcome @HammaMan!

Love my local discount tire! Think I'm on my 6th or 7th set of tires in the last four years (numerous vehicles) and it's the only tire shop I'll go too. Fast, nice, and they go along way to retain customers.
We appreciate your continued support! If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to us here on the forum.

Thank you for sponsoring... sites like this have costs so I'm glad I don't get the bill. I've had several tire sets over the years from DT and love the free balancing. Ford will rotate for oil changes but charge extra for balance.
Glad to be here! Thanks for the welcome, Jeffrey!

Charged me $200 to mount and balance my tires because I didn't buy from them. RIPOFF!!!!!!!
Our installation price will vary for product carried in based on size and other services need, such as dismounting currently installed tires. In an effort to be as transparent as possible we include a full breakdown of installation cost prior to service. I sincerely apologize if a breakdown of charges was not provided prior to the start of service.

Kudos to Discount Tire. Regardless of the few babies who are expecting everyone to read their mind when it comes to aftermarket tire pressure, I am a happy customer and will continue visiting and buying tires from you.
First and foremost, thank you for your service, Jay!

We appreciate your continued support of Discount Tire!

When my wife shows up with our kid’s Lexus, nail in the tire, and the tire replacement warranty….. why do you try to sell her 4 new tires when the Lexus doesn’t need it. Just honor your stupid warranty and move on.

We will never buy tires from DT ever again.
I'm not sure what the circumstances are surrounding these visits, however we do recommend replacement of all four(4) tires for AWD applications and tires that are approaching 4/32nds of tread depth.

We certainly value your business and would love to keep you as a customer. If you would like for us to look into this further for you, please shoot us a direct message.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback.

@Discount Tire thanks for the pm. Replied with all the info. Again, I have bought tires from your company for years along with the balance/rotate plan. Just the last experience left me pretty bummed. However I do thank you for being a sponsor and a part of the forum.
Thank you for the reply back, Anthony. I really appreciate you giving us the opportunity to look into this matter. I'll be replying to your PM shortly!

A big shout out for DT store TX11, they've been my go-to folks for anything tire related since they opened near me. Staff changes in the front office and the bays over the years but the service remains consistently great, both OE tire service and purchasing new tires.

No problem installing metal stems on new OE wheel/tire sets, no problem quickly installing Ford Accessory in-wheel TPMS on my RV wheels with OE tires, etc, etc, and IMO the price is always reasonable.

Respect a request to jack from the axle rather than the frame to avoid airbag stress, respect a request to not use air-tools on close-fitting inset lug-nuts, respect a request to inflate to a certain pressure, allow me to closely inspect brakes while they've got the wheels off, all accommodated with a smile, no worries!

Love my local Discount Tire!
Thank you for the shout out to our crew at TXD11!

I'll be sure to pass along your kudos; thank you for the continued support!

whatcha get? ;) im looking at some 295/60/R20s myself.

thanks for being a part of the 14Gen forum. wish you guys could offer a small discount to us but it is what it is.
Thank you for welcoming us in, Wayne! Though we do not have a member discount currently, if this changes we'll be sure to post up!

Thank you for becoming an official sponsor. Have never had any issues at my local store in Charlotte NC. Store NCC 03 on S.Tryon.
Thanks, Michael! Glad to hear the crew at NCC 03 is taking good care of you. I'll be sure to pass your comments along to the store.

@Discount Tire -

Several of the new threads you just started won't allow us to post:

Welcome to the Discount Tire Vendor Forum | Please Read Before Posting - While we can read before we TRY to post, we can't POST.

Found a lower out the door price? Let us know!- Can't "let you know" if we can't post.
Hi Robert!

My apologies if our locked sticky threads lacked clear direction.

The intent of the DTC Vendor Forum thread is to help guide members who are creating a new thread in our sub forum.

The intent of the Found it lower thread is to guide members where they can submit for a price match, which includes direct messaging us on the forum.

My local Discount Tire is great. No issue with the psi they set my E rated tires at. I have had an issue with them losing the matching valve caps but I just take em off myself now.
Thank you for the kind words, Carlos - though please expect my apologies for the previous experiences with the valve caps.

I’m looking to potentially get away from my 33/12.5/20 tires and go to a 285/60/20.
I’m looking at lighter tires but still all terrain.
the Nokian outpost tire, do you have any real world advice on that tire? The website doesn’t really have many review reviews.

I'll say this...

Been a customer of Discount Tire for over 25 years. I can't count the number of times one of my dependents showed up at DT with a blown tire and that tire was repaired/replaced (the only reason I know about those visits was the email receipts). I have not one time had a bad experience with DT, and I've purchased in the neighborhood of 20 full sets of tires from them. If I say "air them to 42" that is precisely what they do. And they almost always buy the take-off tires from me.

I can not say the same about NTB, Firestone, several independent shops.

I have been a DT customer for over 18 years.. The customer service is unparalleled compared to not just the auto industry but any other industry.. I have worked with different front desk guys over the years at the Round Rock TX location and they have all been extremely courteous and helpful..
Whatever training you provide them and the company culture you have is working..
I am really happy with the prices but more importantly the service you all provide..

DT is one of the best companies in any industry! Welcome to the forum!

I haven't personally experienced this tire, however from the feedback I've received from customers, this tire well balanced and is very comfortable to drive. Only negative is that it tends to produce road noise as it wears, however this it typical of any tire, though more noticeable with A/T tread patterns.

I run my LT nittos at 35psi. Anything higher and the truck would probably rattle apart from ride harshness.
