Welcome Discount Tire, Jordan, Joe, and Matt and thank you for sponsoring the site! We get great service at the Discount Tire in Monument, Colorado, and they do account for the cold weather and altitude when setting the pressure in our tires.

Welcome Discount Tire! My local store (Durango, Co)has been an amazing place to do business with. Everyone there has earned my trust and my loyalty as a customer. How ever you pick and train employees, it's working.

I've always had great experiences with Discount Tire - be it in-store or ordering online. If I had to guess, I've probably purchased 10-12 sets of tires for various vehicles over the years. Unfortunately, there are no B&M stores near me since I moved.. :(

Lol, easy bud. Easy, like you said, just don't take your truck there at all. Rotate your dang wheels and tires at home yourself.

This is what i do now. I used to go to discount tire because i had the tire rotation/balance package or whatever it was called but they decided to take apart my beadlock and mount the ring upside down. Then proceeded to hit it with the impact. At first the manager stated he would replace the wheel because the threads where completely toast. That was until he saw the price then wanted to have it repaired. Needless to say i ended up throwing the wheel in the trash and buying a new one on my dime. Lesson learned. I'll buy tires from discount but i rotate at home now.

Welcome to Discount Tire and a big "howdy" from Tennessee! Already a customer, my wife got new shoes for her van at the local Discount Tire. I watched the work from the waiting area, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the shop not only had a torque wrench, they actually use it! Will wonders never cease!

Welcome Discount Tire! I live in New England so have only heard rumors of your existence. My request is to keep Tire Rack exactly as it is, at least with respect to their tire tests and user reviews!

You guys, no. You think a tire shop should put tires to maximum sidewall pressure instead of the clearly specified and engineered ratings by the manufacturer? that's just nuts.
If you need more than 35 psi, you air them back up yourself at home. Don't expect a high volume tire shop to interrupt their standard protocol to fuss over your exact tire pressure desires. Only takes you 10 more minutes at home if you have a decent compressor. Or buy a viair pump off amazon for $50 and keep it in the truck if you don't already have one.

Anyway, welcome discount tire. When's the next big sale?
Um dude. You do know door sticker is for oem tires only? Right?

As soon as you swap tire brand/rating/etc those stickers are 100% worthless. Especially if you go from a P to LT tire.

I thought this was common knowledge.

It wise to research before posting.

Hi! Welcome to the forums!

Can you please train your employees to not air up tires based on what's on the door sticker, but based on the tire specifications? Or even better, to listen to the customer pleading to not de-air the tire?

Sincerely, someone who has stopped getting his free tire rotations because no matter how many times he tells the (multiple) stores to not re-air anything to 35 psi on an E rated tire, the staff does it anyways! And then I have to wait another hour to tell them to air it back up to 45 psi, so I just go home and do it myself!
not to burst your bubble but they won’t take the feedback and apply it to all of their locations lmao

Of course i do, no need to be snarky. But dude, not really. Simply switching tire brands but staying in the same size and ratings would not mean you need different pressures. Those door placard pressures are still your starting point and what the handling of the vehicle is based upon. You want to swap to a radically different tire, go for it (i often do). But then maybe don’t whine on a vendor’s new intro thread about their failure to customize inflation pressures to your whim of the day.

Thank you so much for the welcome, Chris & Ryan! Glad to hear the crews are taking good care of you; we appreciate the continued support!

Awesome to hear; we appreciate your continued business!

There are no forum discounts, however that's not to say the members here won't get the one up from time to time. I'll add that we maintain our low price promise for everyone and will not be undersold! Should a competitor have cheaper advertised out the door price, please let us know!

Thank you for sharing @Eskram!

Good news is we are expanding our presence in FL. Where abouts are you in FL? Happy to see if there are any stores coming soon to your area.

I'm sorry to learn of the experience, Anthony; thank you for taking the time to make us aware.

I hope you don't mind us following up by PM.

Only rumors; hopefully good ones!

Thank you for supporting our sister company. Rest assured, testing and reviews will not be going anywhere and if anything, should increase ;)

Snarky is just how Mtnman1 rolls. I agree that the placard is a good place to start as does every tire manufacturer.

From GoodYear's website:
The car manufacturer has provided the vehicle’s tire sizes and recommended cold tire pressures located on a placard somewhere in your car. The first place to check would be somewhere along the door frame around the driver’s door jamb. This tire placard lists the proper cold tire pressure for both the front and rear of your car.

From Michelin's website:
The vehicle manufacturer selects the size and type of tires for their vehicles. They perform the necessary testing to establish the vehicles’ optimized operating tire inflation pressures which can be found on the vehicle placard (located on the inside of the driver's door) and in the vehicle owners’ manual. If the tires on your vehicle are the same size as the original equipment tire, inflate them to the pressures indicated on the placard.

If the size of the tires is different than the size indicated on the placard, please contact us via phone or email for a pressure recommendation.
