My heat exchanger sounds like a tin coffee can with coins in it being shaken, when the truck is warming up. I’ve noticed there is a recall on these in Canada (letter issued 5/31/24). Set to be replaced tomorrow at a discounted rate. Have any of you had this problem and had it repaired via recall? Thanks for any info.

Might be the resonator, it's notorious for sounding like something is loose but it's typically when it's warmer, not colder..

I think that the appropriate greeting for someone with a Ford and a heat exchanger problem is, "May God have mercy on your soul."

Somewhere in the 90s, Ford got the bright idea that it made sense to mount them in a way that required pulling the console to get to them . . .

(Not that I'm irritated about this and the ten hour job to get to a twenty minute job, oh, no, not at all! :curse:)

We’re apparently talking about a different part. This one is on the exhaust and is 1.5 hours of labor, so it probably took 30 minutes.
