I hope so!! Forgot about our Canadian F-150 brother's up north!
man we're getting absolutely pounded this winter... my last car was a 2014 mustang and driving this truck in the winter is like night and day.

i started out getting 16MPG on my first tank and even when switching to winter tires and crappy weather i'm getting around 20 if i really go easy (first oil change already done and have about 5K miles)

i feel pretty good and was able to tell my wife 'i told you so' when she was trying to convince me to go with an ecoboost. we are getting almost as good mileage as they are on the powerboost threads!

Has anyone driven 21 5.0L, is there a dash indicator for the cylinder deactivation?
Also, does cylinder deactivation automatically get shut off in Sport or Tow modes?
It may be something that has been omitted/deleted with chip shortage, like the Auto Start/Stop delete.
My understanding is that the deactivation might make fuel economy 8-10% better, but you pretty much need to be going downhill with the wind at your back for it to actually work.
Just my guess, could be wrong.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but the word is Sport or Tow/Haul modes will keep the engine in all 8 cylinders all the time.

I notice it, even in sport mode. Seems to pop almost like a small backfire. It's almost as if it cuts the spark before fuel.
Your truck has an issue (respectfully). With an exhaust system, you can hear it. That's not how it is when the CD activates. It's like a duhhda, duduhhaa. I would take that into the dealer to document that.

It's not and you dont.

Ford has been very quiet about cylinder deactivation, nothing in the owners manual, I have done a pdf word search and found nothing.
I can hear it on my truck. NP except its bad for the motor.

Back firing is a normal operating sound with ford trucks. Just like a loud whine in the trans

Glad you got yours. I just now got word mine is at the San Antonio Railyard. May be next week before I get it after it thaws out. I just replaced to outside water hose bibbs this morning to get my water back on. All stores are out of plumbing supplies. Had to plug one. no faucets in town. Bienvenidos San Antonio. Hace mucho frio here. Ha!!
I sure hope I like this Antimatter blue. Cannot tell by the photo attached if I will like it or not. I like the 2 tone paint. it got the front and rear bumpers painted gray also.

You’ll have to try harder to troll or at least get a back understanding of modern engines before trying again lol

What are you hearing? At what driving conditions? I have 30K miles on my 21 5.0 and never heard anything.
And we are yet to see any engine issues that are related to cylinder deactivation.
