Halogen to Reflector Headlights

So I'm looking to upgrade my halogen headlights from Halogen to the Reflector Headlights. Does anyone know if they're just a direct swap or will I need to have the truck reprogrammed at the dealer?

I originally didn't want the halogens but with the truck shortage and the price they were willing to give me for my 2019 POS I had to make the trade and essentially find one on the lot. The closest 302a was over 500miles away, so I went with a 301a Sport that was at my dealer. I was able to live without some of the features. I legitimately couldn't keep my 2019 any longer and with the used car sales I couldn't pass up the trade.

Any insight would be appreciated if I can just do the direct swap on them or not or if it is a completely different wiring harness.

I am also looking to do this and the led fog light swap. I bought a 21 F150 Responder and it comes with the stock halogen headlights. I would like to upgrade to the led reflector or the "quad" led headlights. I have searched the forum and really have not found anything for this only the "projector" style. Would be awesome if it was a simple plug and play. Thanks!

Im waiting on my new LED Morimotos, once they come in, will be selling my LED plug and play Alpharex.

They are not plug and play. This will require a conversion harness, or rewiring of the headlamp connectors, and MIGHT require some added wiring to go into the BCM.

Dang it, but if just a harness that would be nice. For now I might end up going with the lasfit led bulbs.

No problem, try Retrofits.
But for the good OEM headlights and harness, expect $2000 and up.

I was just looking at wiring schematics and it *looks* like there’s a few wires you’d had to run to the BCM

Well that is unfortunate. Looks like it will be LED bulbs for me.

If you really wanna do it, go for it. If I can wire up some headlight, anyone can lol. There are people that make harnesses that you can buy so you don’t have to build your own, but you will have to run the wiring and plug it into the BCM. However, the cost may not be a whole more to go to full LED projector headlamps. Just know that either setup will cost ~$2k, and you can get some plug and play LED headlamps for around $750-1000

The full functionality of the LED projector headlamps was completely worth the $2k I spent getting them going, IMO
