Got the trailer recall fix via OTA!

So I fixed the “stuck 1.7.1” updates (and recorded the painfully long YT video) myself, and a major question was whether I’d get OTA updates again without dealer intervention.

Well, starting last week my F-150 has been at the all you can eat update buffet, and got 2 power up’s and just got an update to the “trailer not recognized” recall!

I still have the wiper recall but this was a nice bonus and I’m not sure if Ford updated something automatically or manually on theirside, but in my case OTA most definitely now works.

Great video! Thanks for helping all of us on the forum with that. It's also great news that your updates are working again, and it's unbelievable that Ford can accomplish a recall via. OTA! It's truly a new world in automotive technology.

I know because of the Rocky start Ford has had with OTA, we might forget that the whole concept is intended for just these kinds of unheard of capabilities.

There was no “version” like past powerups, and you can see the screenshot above. Here’s the TRM info:

I received the same notification this morning that this patch was applied last night. Very cool.

Had my truck in about a week ago, but my dealer didn't have the parts in to start doing the wiper recalls yet.

Not yet. It seemed to take about 48 hours when the dealer did the underbody recall for it to disappear from Fordpass.

My dealer supposedly fixed the recall by installing the "BA" software in April. The recall was cleared in Ford Pass a few days later. I wonder if I'll get the "BB" fix OTA after my recall notice was cleared.
It's a good thing that I don't tow anything that has brakes.

Same thing here. It will curious to see if we get the new updated version even though the recall does not show up after the dealer installed "BA".
