Always happens. I broke down and ordered the mongoose after dinner. Went out to truck and found there was an update in progress. Go figure. Didn't need the mongoose.

While waiting on update I was doing some forscan work. Apparently I messed up the update because I was turning off and on the truck. Update failed. Stupid me. I really don't care if the updates come now

Well I can’t even check what software I’m running. It won’t give me any info
You should be able to check it via the FordPass app, but it's well hidden:
  1. On the main screen, click on the Vehicle Image
  2. Open "Features & Settings"
  3. Click on "Software Updates"
  4. Click on "Recent Changes" (You should see the date of the latest download)
And you *should* get the "What's in this Update?" screen

I appreciate that but mine doesn’t say recent changes. Still trying to figure out what version I am running. This is what I get in the truck.

Ugh... I've seen it appear and disappeared in the past.

I am running FordPass v4.23.2 on iOS. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Here are my "Software Updates" and "Recent Changes"...

How do you know that it failed? Did it notify you in some way the update failed?

If you toggle OFF Automatic Updates then check for updates again what happens? In '21 trucks in update limbo the 3.5.3 (3.5.3.2 in your case with a '22) update says PENDING and shows the full description...

I have a question, hopefully I'm in the right spot...

I was waiting a while for these updates and then they hit in quick succession. Got 3.5.3 last Thursday and 3.5.4 the very next day.

My question is, I thought the revamped 'look' was part of these updates. Meaning, the rounded off buttons on the screen and the other little visual changes I've seen posted (hopefully that makes sense lol)? If not, how do some people have it enabled? Is it just through ForScan AFTER you receive the latest update?

Thanks in advance!
I believe you're referring to the "Unreal" theme, and yeah, to my knowledge, that's something that needs to be enabled in FORScan. I was going to look at playing with that sometime this week as well.

My '21 does this, and appears to be in limbo. Does anyone know yet how to un-limbo these trucks?

I also waited since September. I tried all the "tricks", disconnect from wifi, send feedback report through Sync, change update schedule/time, lights to off with park brake set and doors locked, etc. I even did the "hack" on the Ford website to see if there was anything pending, nothing.
I was on the verge of throwing salt over my shoulder while sacrificing a live chicken when I said screw it and put all my settings/habits back to what they were before all of this. Then bam, got a notification for 3.5.3.2 after getting home from work yesterday. Now I'll see if 3.5.4 follows up as fast as most everyone else is reporting.

Try and hang in there. I really think this is all just a random lottery, you just have to wait until your ticket is pulled.

No. AT&T cell service is. Our trucks have dedicated AT&T cellular data plans for OTA updates that are completely invisible to us, not an add-on/optional fee or service. While some people have confirmed download activity on their wifi network to their trucks, the vast majority of OTA update downloads are coming over the truck's built-in AT&T cellular connection. In fact, there are rumors that disabling wifi completely works better than having it on, despite what Ford encourages all over the place.
