Many give us too much authority of doing things. Sometimes deletions are made without consultation of Finance/Acctg. Most of times we are consulted but there are times not. So, not the truth.
so are you a Ford bean counter?

I'm upset they took my rain sensing wipers away, and gave me back auto start stop...but I know those are pretty easy fixes all things considered.
'24s don't have rain sensing wipers?

For those who don't use their keypad ... try it a few times (change the code to your PIN or easy to remember number, easy to do as well) ... I will bet you will really like having that as an option. The new Tundra's have a credit card key that does the same as a real key (think Tesla) as an option. When I punch my number in front of friends they look in amazement ... really, Ford has that?

There are tricks too, like pressing 5/6 after entering your code will pop the tailgate. And pressing 7/8-9/0 together will lock all doors without entering a code.

I use it a lot to grab things from the truck when it's out in the driveway or garage and I forgot to bring my keys outside.

Anyone have the part number yet for the keypad??? I had an older part number of R2DI-19G544-AA but it didn’t pull up anything that appeared current.

The level of outrage that Ford doesn't personally ask every member of the forum what they personally want on a truck when making vehicles astounds me.

Pissed off they deleted your favorite thing? Don't buy any more of their product. Pretty simple. Keep buying their product after they do it? They don't care, they still make $$$.

I've never had a keypad. Wouldn't use it if I did. I always thought it was kind of a dumb feature. Oh well.

I'm going to have to try the tailgate release trick....I wasn't aware of this one.

Also, I think in your last sentence you probably meant to say "without" entering a code. When doing the locking function, no code is needed.

Correct! Not sure how I messed that up - will edit the original post.

Dear Astounded:

I'm not really "shocked or greatly surprised" by posts like yours, but I do wish there was an unlike button for them, or better yet, that they didn't exist.

So you're telling us that you're surprised by folks on a F150 forum, discussing changes to a F150 that they don't like? Did someone accidently sign you onto this forum and make you read these posts?

Also, you might want to calibrate your outrage meter. I see no outrage, just folks commiserating about a change that they do not like. One could assume that since Ford sells almost 3/4 of a million trucks each year, that their millions of customers all have various features that are near and dear to them.

What other things astound you? Are you shocked when you watch a soccer match that people are actually trying to kick a ball?

My 2024 KR has rain-sensing wipers. I had to turn them off the one time I went through the carwash a few weeks ago when it was 20 degrees to get all the salt off.

I just stopped to look at a MY 2025 Platinum MSRP $85k and saw the dealer installed keypad option, stuck to the door with doubled sided tape.
I am wondering how long will the double side tape hold on.
And what will happen to the car behind if the keypad decides to let it go on a 80mph freeway to act as a projectile...

ps) I always used the keypads on my past XLTs and I am fumbled now that I could afford to step up to a KR such a well-used feature is gone on my truck.

VFL3Z-9920554-D I believe is for the using the existing wiring in the door.
