@flixden Yes it can be purchased from a dealership parts department or Ford's accessory website.

If you know how to program a new fob you can do it yourself.
Thanks!

This is all I can find on Ford's accessories website, and they all are listed as not compatible. Wondering if that's true, or if the old ones will still work.
Do you have a link to the newer one, apparently with a $225 price tag?

I would like to declare that after 39 months of ownership, I set up a custom code to unlock the truck today. Now I'm in the cool club.
I set mine up when I got the truck and never used it once in real life. I'm gonna look my code up and use it in honor of this thread so I can be cool too!

WOW!

@DD519 has provided a detailed write-up on adding the (real) Securicode Keypad to these newer trucks!

2025 - How to Add SecuriCode | F150gen14 -- 2021+ Ford F-150, Tremor, Raptor Forum (14th Gen) | News, Owners, Community, Discussions
I just added the wired keypad today following his writeup. Cost me $130 shipped for the parts and a few hours of time.

I don't know how long Ford will leave the wiring in the door, but it's a worthwhile mod for me (even though it never should have been deleted in the first place).

If you want to make Securicode Keypad a "dealer installed" option for price gouging...fine. $85,000 vs $85500 whats the difference? But you can atleast make it flush mounted with the door trim or use slim buttons to make it blend with the truck instead of double side sticky taping it to the frame of the door. Whoever thought that design decision up... PROMPTLY SLAP THEM.

I agree with you - but it's good to know for $130 and some time, people with 2025's can still add the flush mounted hard-wired keypad.

The taped on battery powered option is such a bad idea....

Not to mention that in a couple years you have to spend another few hundred to buy another one when the battery goes dead. You can't replace the battery.

I am not sure about that. I installed one of those battery operated ones inside the fuel door of my current F150. It's a 2012, and I just checked my maintenance spreadsheet: installed the keypad in May of '12. That's 13 years, and it's still going strong with no issues and lots of use over the years.
They may be better than people think, unless they have degraded in recent years.

I have a 2021 Limited now and considering a 2025 Platinum Plus. Not a rant post, but really interesting to see how many of the things that came on a 2021 are gone or being phased out in newer ones. Here's a quick rundown from my own experience:
  • Keypad. I'm in the camp of use it all the time, love it, and a thing I've loved on all Ford's going back 30+ years. I don't leave fob in car or anything, but it's super convenient to be able to in cases where I don't want to take fob with me (maybe hiking, beach day, etc.) or wife needs to get something quick that she forgot (e.g. sunglasses) and can just get in without me/fob being around.
  • Park assist/auto-park thing. Never used. Was slick to try it once in an empty parking lot, but simply never needed it.
  • 2021 had all LEDs and they had to go back to some classic bulbs (auxiliary things like cupholder lights, maybe rear tow lights or something like that, not sure where all it happened), but it think that was during immediate COVID years/supply chain shortages and I think (Hope!) all of that is now resolved and we're back to all LED again
  • Someone said rain-sensing wipers are gone?! I hope that's wrong. Based on what I can see online, 2025's still have it
  • Headrest speakers. My 2021 Limited has the upgraded sound system and has the speakers in the head rest. My understanding is that that's gone - I've tried to carefully listen in mine during music, audiobooks, etc and I can BARELY hear anything coming out of that headrest speakers so I'm going to declare that one mostly useless.
The main point of my post is actually something I don't hear talked about a lot which is the absence of Phone As A Key (PaaK). It was rumored even for the 2021's and was even mentioned in some draft manuals but ultimately never got it. I definitely expected that to come in the refresh in 2024 and still nothing. For reference, my wife's last two generations of the Navigator (about the same price as my truck) have both had it and we use it extensively - neither of us bring the fob for her car at all, we just use our phones and it works well. Alternatively, if that fails, you can still do everything with a backup passkey. Along he same lines, we use the keypad on her car the same way as on my truck.

Now that even competing trucks have more advanced options like the card, phone as a key, etc., and it's offered in other Ford platforms (Lightning truck, MustangE, etc.) doesn't it seem like this is an area where Ford is falling behind?

For those who are familiar with PaaK, would that be a reasonable substitute for the keypad? I get it's not the exact same thing, but it seems to me it would have been a defensible alternative if they would have eliminated the keypad (as standard) at the same time they introduced a newer near-alternative.

Because I don't drive my truck much, not like I use too, I have my code in a note pad app on my phone mixed with a long string of numbers. I usually remember the first 3, recognize them and then I read the last 2.... 😂

With a 4 x 2 I might add...

If Ford had added PAAK on ALL trims of the F150 XLT and above (at least at a reasonable $200+/- option cost) I'd let the keypad thing slide, especially if they just leave the wiring there and let dealers add it as an option.

I love the keypad, and its already been handy about 5 times in the 2 months I have owned this truck. Last vehicle I had with it was 10+ year ago and I'd forgotten it can be pretty handy. Especially since the freaking key fob is HUGE and I now hate carrying my keys because of that.

While I am ranting, can we get some kind of SLIM KEY or keycard option? I don't even need buttons on it at all, just the RFID thing to unlock the truck (can lock with the door buttons). Of course PAAK would mostly negate that need too.

If it was just me driving any of my 5 trucks I would care a bit less about the keypad.
I run a business with 4 employees that drive each truck. Each truck has a fob. (1). Hiden inside. Each truck is equipped with specific tools or trailers attached.
It's imperative that any of my guys have access to any truck at any time. It would be a nightmare to keep track of who has what FOB. Not to mention the rip off cost of FOB replacement or duplication.
Ford pass is too slow and doesn't work in remote no internet locations.
My 22 hybrid has the 7500w power supply for jobs with power. I Have To leave the fob locked inside to keep the engine running.

The keypad is 75% the reason I chose ford's over any others. After owning 20 different ford's
Loosing the keypad option and Ford's absolutely stupid Ford Pass update that removed the ProPower monitors on my Phone (another gripe and thread)
Ford is doing some stupid stuff and driving me away. Deal breaker will be when I'm locked of the obd port where I can no longer do my own major maintenance.

I couldn't agree more with this ..... I lock our 4 work trucks with the key fobs inside....and our employees know the code to get in the trucks....
Such a stupid move on Ford's part. Not every situation can be handled with their piss pour app...........which is what they expect everyone to use instead of the keypad..
