Goodbye: Securicode Keypad 🤔

Of ALL the deletions, cutbacks, cost savings…. deleting the driver door Securicode Keypad for MY 2025 has got to be one of the worst decisions to come out of the Ford ‘think tank’. I personally feel the keypad has long set these trucks apart from competitors simply from the standpoint of convenience.

I just stopped to look at a MY 2025 Platinum MSRP $85k and saw the dealer installed keypad option, stuck to the door with doubled sided tape.

I know Ford monitors this forum and I sure hope someone is getting their ass chewed out over this.

I'm torn. I have the door keypad, and it is useful, however I have yet to use it on this truck. Probably just because I haven't memorized the code yet. But I do like the idea of being able to hide the other one somewhere, like in the gas filler door. Of course thats been discussed enough that its probably no longer a "hiding" spot.

I'm upset they took my rain sensing wipers away, and gave me back auto start stop...but I know those are pretty easy fixes all things considered.

I use the keypad quite a bit. Some dumbass bean counter needs let go for dropping the integrated keypad.

Never used mine. Don't even know the code because I never changed it. I don't think Ford monitors this forum. Oddly enough, seems like the Lightning forum Ford account is actually manned by real people.

Ford does not monitor these forums anymore. In fact, the 'Ford accounts' on a number of Ford product forums recently posted in each forum that they would no longer be monitoring them.

I guess you'll never buy another Ford truck then.

I do admit that I've relied on mine (old style) every single day on every new Ford truck I've bought (a bunch). When it comes time for a new truck, I'm not going to buy a GM, Dodge, or Toyota simply because the door keypad on the Ford looks bad.

That looks ridiculous on an $85K vehicle.

Do what they did on my wife's 2024 Escape: Leave the wiring in the b-pillar and make it a DIO. Her keypad/b-pillar was in a box, and the body show swapped it within an hour of the Escape being delivered. It looks and works great, and I was happy to pay the $225 for it (it's actually nicer than the F150 as it is touch).

Many give us too much authority of doing things. Sometimes deletions are made without consultation of Finance/Acctg. Most of times we are consulted but there are times not. So, not the truth.

Seriously though! I test drove a ‘25 and realized the keypad was gone and that alone was the deciding factor in not moving forward with the purchase. For those who are new to Ford trucks, I’m guessing there’s not the same affinity for this feature.

If it’s anything like the super duty the wiring is still in the door and you can buy the securicode trim piece and install it. I just did it on a 2025 last weekend.

Say what? Tell me more. Was this a 2025 F-150, and if so what trim level?

There’s discussion on this in some other threads that the ‘24 lower trim levels (specifically STX)lacked the wiring harness in the door, one would assume that the harness has been deleted all together across trim levels for ‘25.

Other than setting it up with a code and testing when I first got it I've never used mine. I'm sure this is a useful feature for some situations, but I have yet to find it. Considering the popularity of removing things like factory decals and aero fender tabs for a "cleaner" look, I would think that not having the key pad would be welcomed by some.

My Key stays in my truck 100% of the time. I don't carry keys at all because of it. I'm beginning to use the Ford App more and more now that there's buttons in the phone's control center but 95% of the time I use the keypad.
