Down But Not Out

The average national gas price was $3.50 on January 27, up more than ten cents over the prior week and forty cents over the end of December.

Steadily decreasing gas prices this fall boosted some segments of the used car market.

We’ve seen a great deal of rising demand for larger vehicles in the past two months after several months of abysmal large truck and SUV sales.

That may no longer be the case as gas prices are climbing again.

The average national gas price hovered around $3.50 on January 27, up more than ten cents over the prior week and forty cents compared to the end of December.

Here’s what AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross said:

“The recent rising temperatures led to rising pump prices. And with the cost of oil hitting $80 a barrel, there is a lot of upward pressure on gas prices at the moment.”

If this trend continues, we may see lower interest in larger trucks and SUVs, which means you’ll probably make less when you sell.

And gas prices will only go up as people begin to travel in the spring. So if you’re considering selling a gas guzzler, this may be the time to do it.

Listening to truck owners complain about fuel costs is like listening to people who sleep around complain about STDs.

What were you expecting?

I paid $160.00+ to fill at $4.99 a gallon today here in CA.

There ARE cheaper Gas Stations but there are more expensive ones too...

This was pretty useless IMO.

A better prediction might be based on:
- Europe won’t be using Russian diesel which will drive up diesel prices/potentially pressure gas prices (just saw this headline today; not sure if diesel/gas prices directly link, I don’t think there’s a strong one but maybe there is)
- refineries that deferred maintenance in order to help bring gas prices lower in the winter will have to shutdown soon, driving gas prices up (my friend shared this but I haven’t checked if it’s true or not yet)

Gas guzzler? I mean, I guess…but it’s still amazing that my 22 5.0L gets roughly the same mpg (or l/100km) as my 04 Honda Element did (other Element owners get the same so it wasn’t just me!).

Out of touch much?

I love my gas guzzler that makes electricity!!!

Yeah, that gas guzzler ran a 2k square foot house for three days on less than three quarters of a tank!

And, " which means you’ll probably make less when you sell "
Why in the hell would I sell this amazing power plant???

Hybrids are a completely different story! Purely gasoline powered vehicles are the type that might lose value as prices rise, but for hybrids, they become more in demand when gas prices are high.

So, those words make sense somewhat.

But, the PowerBoost is not the traditional hybrid that fits those statistics.

This power plant isn't 'saving' the planet by ... ummm, using coal to charge it to make it go. It is using gas to produce awesome HP an torque along with electricity.

So, the most amazing gas guzzler ever produced!
