So I got my 2022 Lariat 502A PB with the FX4 package but I am already thinking about replacing the front coilover assembly and rear suspension with the Bilstein 6112 Stage 1 package from Stage3motorsports.com
All my driving is in the city and I will not be taking my $70k truck off-roading any time soon or pretty much never. I am looking for something that will make my truck glide through the streets and I do not want to feel any sort of bumps on the road. I would like better handing and hopefully eliminate the rear hop I have every once in a while experienced. The stock FX4 suspensions seem pretty good but can I make it even better for every day driving? Is it worth me upgrading to the Bilstein Stage 1 package? I will also keep it at stock height, not looking to level.

TIA

I'm in the same situation, FX4 probably not going to do off road. Just want to eliminate some of the roll and float. Following along. If you do end up with this kit please update with your impressions.

Same here although I do want to level, but I don’t do any off roading. I’ve heard so much negative about running puck spacers that it seems a coil over is the way to go but then some say they are overkill if you are not off-roading.

I just installed the 6112/5160 combo on my non-Fx4 Lariat Powerboost. The stock ride was soft but felt like an older Lincoln or Cadillac (think boating over waves as opposed to driving over bumps). The ride quality of the Bilstein set-up is night and day compared to the factory. Much more controlled, tighter feel, very little body roll, no porposing, no axel hop, extremely smooth, and yet still a very nice ride. I’m guessing my ride is softer than most who upgrade to this setup as I kept standard load tires (275/70r18) and I have more sidewall on 18s as opposed to 20s. Couldn’t be happier and would absolutely recommend it.

Ended up buying these
https://www.stage3motorsports.com/6112s121f150-21-22-f150-4wd-bilstein-6112-stage-1-package.html

I went to the dealership today and they do not install 3rd party parts so I went to my local Mechanic shop where they did the same upgrade for me for my old 2018 F150 and they did good work.

I will update the post once received and installed. NO more mods, this is it LOL
I ordered the 2021-22 6112s as well (from S3MS and still waiting) but already have the rear 5100s installed and those alone made a great improvement, especailly with the rear end hopping and shuffle. I have a Leer cap with gear in the back and travel off road as well as doing many highway miles and it is a great choice. Consider getting the rears sent now and install them yourself. Very easy install (30-40 mins without lift) and you wont be disappointed with just the rears while you wait for the front coil overs.

Definitely will do the rears. Can't wait, thanks for the response!

I have a '21 Lariat Fx4 and just ordered the Bilstein 6112 shocks. I dont plan on doing a lot (if any) off-roading, but wanted it for the 2" level. I didnt want to install a puck. I'll also be putting on 285/65/r20 KO2s on the OEM 20"s. Hopefully there/s no rubbing and everything works nicely!

I am currently running 305/45/22 Michelin Defenders. No rubbing and they ride amazing.

In my opinion, the FX4 is not really an off road spring&damper setup. It's barely perceptibly different than the non FX4.

Or put another way, way underdamped for road irregularities, much less off-road terrain.

Any Bilstein is likely to result in a better ride over bumps and irregular surfaces. More planted and less slop.

I ordered the Bilstein 6112 Stage 1 package also and plan to level and buy 275/60/20 Toyo Open Country AT3s for my stock platinum wheels. It looks like these tires in SL rating are the lightest ATs I can find.

Whenever I placed my order on Friday it was at zero stock and as of Sunday night, it's at -2. Hopefully the wait won't be too long but we'll see
