Problem seems to be getting worse. I used to just get the trailer brake module fault. Now, couple nights ago I got whole dash and center console reboot while driving. This happened every couple minutes. Seems to mainly happen on long highway trips, particularly when it gets real cold, like around zero, single digits.

Freaky part was auto high beams would disable too, so looked like headlights were going off, realized on 2nd or 3rd time it was just high beams turning off.

Any idea what this is? What to look for?

Video attached.

I second what UGADawg96 said. This was how my PB started acting 4 days after purchase. Ford ended up buying it back. Good luck and be safe.

Well that's an exciting reply.

I bought this used with low milage. Perhaps I know why now.

I have dealer appointment tomorrow. We'll see what they say.

BTW, about 2 months ago I did all FDRS updates... mid october, it was doing it before, seems to be worse after. Haven't rechecked but feel like 2 months ago means I'm pretty up to date.

dealer canceled appointment. I got a new 2 day FDRS license, pulled the DTCs (attached here) and it all shows "lost communication with...." damn near every module. Think that points to gateway module?

Only pending update is APIM. I will apply, but doubt it will fix this.

If all modules are losing connection, does that point to bad GWM?

dropped at dealer today. They said they have second truck doing exact same thing. They think it's the BCM. They have a Ford engineer coming to look at both trucks.

Just sharing updates here incase it helps someone else.

Quite a few have reported random/odd issues with multiple systems on their trucks that were solved with a new 12V battery.

Some reported the battery swap came after days of unsuccessful troubleshooting by the dealer.

Consider asking the dealer to START with dropping in a new battery first.

Posting resolution for anyone who has this or similar issue:

Turns out my Trailer Brake Module (under dashboard above dead pedal area) was bad. It was bad in such a way that when temperature changed quickly, or when temp was really hot, it would spew noise into the CAN bus and cause ALL modules to reboot.

After disconnecting the 2 plugs on the Trailer Break Module, the issue has not reproduced since.

I then purchased a new module, plugged it in, and again, issue has not reproduced since.

So, fingers crossed the issue is just gone for good now.

this guy ML3Z-19H332-AB

it comes with the dash buttons too, but I didn't use those. I just replaced the module under the dash above the dead pedal area.

Thanks, my dealer service have ordered that part number. No eta and said that there are 300 on back order. They also say there are parts available at other dealers. Cost $350 Canadian.
I've made two payments since brand new. Warranty job no urgency on their part.
I haven't yet raised my voice in protest...

Should have been warranty issue for me to. I had same issue with Ford dealership. Part was backordered. I went online, got it in less than a week.

For $250, after a year of farting around with ford, to get it shipped and fixed, wasn't worth the brain damage to me.
