Found unknown toggle switch

Found an unknown aux rocker toggle switch hidden inside the storage pocket that is located directly next to your right leg. I was able to follow the wire routed to the back of the truck. Wires were cut and left zip tied to another wire near the hitch. Wondering what it could of been for?

Flipping the switch does nothing. I can start the truck and I can’t see any effect otherwise from flipping the switch. The wire is cut as seen in the picture with a cable that has 5 wires inside it.

how many wires are connected to the switch and where do any others go? One of those wires may still have 12 volts connected to it when the truck is on. I would follow all the wires back to the other ends and disconnect them. You don't want one shorting out and who knows what will happen.


Side Note - You have a F 160 and not a F 150?...

I’ve seen pictures of people mounting their aftermarket sub knob there but it is usually a knob and not an on/off toggle.

I agree probably something with rear lighting as that seems the most logical use. You should find where the wiring leads on the front of truck and that might provide further insight.

Forgot to mention. I can see the wire is hooked up to the battery with a 10amp in line fuse.

Looks like someone bought a roll of five pin trailer wiring. Who knows why. I'd remove the switch, fill the hole, and follow the wires. Then perhaps you'll find out.

Best guess, a bunch of LED lights.
