Discovered another bug on a 2400 mile trip.... FDRS'ed up to current levels. Have full screen Carplay Unreal render etc.

Switching drivers without turning off the engine .. just pushing the number button on the driver door.... caused XM radio presets to be lost. Technically not lost.. overwritten. My wife has VERY different XM presets than mine! It seems that with the radio playing and during a profile switch the XM presets are not loaded from the new profile. So when I shut down a few hours later her XM presets were saved to my profile wiping out my presets.

Oddly enough most of the profile selections did update when I pressed driver 1. Wife likes Display mode in Auto.. I like Night mode. Pushing the button toggled the display as expected. Door locking settings switched. Easy exit switched. Didn't notice the radio presets not making it as the wife was managing music..

But overall very bad behavior. When I want my profile updated... I will press and hold the door button I want updated to the current settings. If I let a friend share driving tasks and they change something (lumbar, seat position, etc.) I don't want the new settings overriding my profile settings.

I am not sure if this is a new bug as it is rare for us to have a driver switch without a shutdown in between. Anyone else seen this? Anyone have a workaround beside a power off-on cycle?

Until there is a fix... be sure to shutdown between driver changes!

Do you have different radio presets for you different driver settings/profiles? IF not you would not see it.

I sometimes think I am a boundary condition having so much different between driver profiles. My favorite issue is where wife likes mirror autofold on. I prefer it off. When she parks and locks the truck I can't get the mirrors out.. fold button on the driver door is ignored... until I turn autofold back on. Gave up and just have both profiles with autofold on.

nope
in fact my wife has not even driven it, and we have had it since April, she didn't drive the 21 super duty either, except a 10 foot back and fwd under the shed so i could remove the heavy tool box with the hoist when we sold it.
i question having 3 presets for drivers...who is going to let 2 other people drive the truck?
i understand having a wife setting.
my radio presets are 2 stations on fm...we are in the sticks and we use pandora 99% of time
i loose pandora in the APPS almost every start up
then i use it through the phone connection bluetooth.
we dont use xm or sirius because it sucks imo compared to pandora (siriuss owns pandora to ?)

autofold should not matter , i thought the button was an overide, i shut off autofold as we dont have skinny parking, so i just fold them with button if we need to.

you may on to something with too many changes for it to keep up with...i have no idea how much computing pwr or storage the sync 4 has. but it has to be pretty good IMO

You mentioned phone disconnect. As best I can tell each profile has a preferred primary phone that it connects to. So that behavior is consistent.

My wife drives on long trips... not around town. She likes the truck behavior to match her Lexus so I have turned on autofold, easy exit, nav look/feel, radio presets same/similar between vehicles, etc., etc.

My 3rd profile is "other" and I use it for elk/pheasant hunting long drives with the guys. I switch over so they don't screw up number 1!!!

And I use XM because my travels take me through areas with zero cell coverage.. Even the drive from Austin up Granbury (SW of Fort Worth) has sections of no cell coverage on TX 281. From elk camp in CO to reliable cell coverage is about 1 hour drive....

ALL the above makes 100% sense for your situation.
we have many cell dead areas here as well, and that does interrupt pandora for a few minutes .
i have found using the trucks wifi modem , vice the phone cell, that i tend not to loose cell as much
our hog hunt place has no cell, so we (wife and i ) have to talk to each other, best 4 hrs of the week.

#3 so alternate drivers dont screw up #1 YEAH thats a great idea. (y)

oh and great to have another texan on here
