Ford has not cared about the owners of its vehicles since Henry Ford built the first one. All they care about is seeing them go out the door of the factories and off the lots to people who buy them and reapinf the profit s from the sales. Case in point is the recall for the axle bolts now over a year old. If they keep tinkering with the software and screwing-up things that have worked what is the chance that they will eventually turn our vehicles into "yard cars?" The question is who is writing and rewriting this code and where are they located, and what control does Ford actually have over them? We've all seen computer applications totally demolished by coding errors and deletions.

Nice that Fordpass is no charge for proud owners of the Blue Oval.

The only part of the app that I found useful is monitoring PPoB, especially when boondocking.
I sent a complaint to Ford when it was removed.

If I would have paid for the app and they took any function away, I would cancel the subscription. If they decide to charge for the app I would not pay unless they add the PPoB features back into the app.

Axle recall: The latest letter I received said there would be a resolution for the max tow axle by Q1 2025. That is 10 days from today. Unfortunately my dealer is small and could care less about my recall and issues (max tow, PassApp).

I am seriously considering trading in my PB for a 3/4 ton - any brand with a reputable service center (because we all know any new vehicle you buy today is going to be serviced). I will just load a generator or more batteries to replace the ProPower feature.
I am no longer a Ford loyal customer.
Really hoping Ford reads these.

As much as the modules continue to draw power even when the truck is "off" it seems simple, but for some reason Ford has little interest in implementing a Sentry mode like feature.
They are working on something like this. I got a test invite to try it out. I filled out a survey form but not sure If I'll qualify since I have a bed cap.

I got that last November. Made little sense to me since it required installing a third party camera and using a third party service. https://www.canopy.security/

Seemed to have little to do with FordPass or specific to Ford at all. ??

I don't think the current platform supports it. Maybe next gen trucks? But FordPass they can do much more but they choose not to or don't have enough competent people. The previous versions had all the features don't know why they are trying to reinvent the wheel with new FordPass. The only useful thing I do in there is remote start.

Just like PPoB in FordPass, it does appear ford was working on it and then abandoned...

Ohhh just realize you're a bit new.... there was a version of FordPass in 2021 until not so long ago that had all of those features. A member on here even made a FordPass companion app that worked even better by using their API until they decided to close it off so it broke all of his work. Then slowly they stripped all the good stuff like SecuriAlerts, it used to alert you when your door was open/close/lock. People were catching their dealers lying about working on their trucks by looking at the alerts. Good Times!

This should be possible again. There is a fella who got some apple short cuts to run even with the new API restrictions. They really should collaborate...

Actually, I use the Siri Shortcuts all the time. They are limited, but work. "Hey Siri, start my truck". Nice when I don't want to fumble for my phone or keys on a cold morning.

Unfortunately, it seems the API has become very difficult to work with or access outside a few simple features just like FordPass App.

I’ve spent my entire career path/life, now retired after 30 years, in IT. Funny thing about apps, they take a ton of research and development not to mention time, money and resources to include people and hardware. Now let’s talk about ongoing hardware compatibility. Every time some idiot makes a hardware or software change anywhere in phones (two very different platforms that upgrade OS constantly), trucks or backend servers it inevitably affects everything downstream. Think about it just a minute. The technical complexity in changes across just the F150 platform in software and hardware during the past four years alone is staggering. You can change just a chip vendor in a control module or a few lines of code and blow up months of work in something like a consumer level access and control app. Given what I know of corporate engineering, corporate communication, corporate IT processes, and network connectivity in general in most areas, I’m surprised the app does most of what is says it will do as well as it does. I’m also very surprised that Ford still gives this thing away. I wonder how long it will last because it is costing them more money than I believe a lot of people realize.

guy guys guys, don't worry, features will be back SOON™

Soon, adv.: A delightfully vague term employed by companies to pacify eager customers, meaning "at some indeterminate point in the future, possibly when the stars align, the coffee machine is fixed, or we just feel like it—whichever comes last."
