Hi Tim (tsd), thanks for posting this. I called my dealership this week on Monday and told them about TSB 23-2317. The rep was aware of the Stop Safely Now but didn't know this TSB had come out. He scheduled me for Thursday morning. I brought it in at 8am and the updates completed by 9am. It was the first time the service techs had performed this procedure. My tech said it was a USB based update and that sometimes those updates could take a long time and needed to be babysat (to answer prompts and continue the software update). But this one wasn't bad and probably only took them 30 minutes after they read through the procedures.Just received word from Service Manager that Ford now has a TSB listed for this fix. It was posted yesterday. TSB 23-2317. Software updates are available for the following modules GWM, APIM, TCU.
Let us know. Inquiring minds and all.Hope this helps someone... Had the fix applied, and the rear axle wiring recall at the same time. Now....I just wait and see if the old SSN problem comes back. Hope not!

I have about 10500 miles on my 23PB purchased in March. I’ve had one SSN event (that I reported on the other SSN thread)in September at 7500 miles. I am averaging 25.2 mpg overall.Hope this helps someone... Had the fix applied, and the rear axle wiring recall at the same time. Now....I just wait and see if the old SSN problem comes back. Got the SSN fix applied. The first 4 attempts failed because the battery SOC was too low. They tested and tried to charge the battery, but it would not charge above 14%. They replaced the battery and then the TSB applied successfully. Thats a win for the day!Mine goes for the SSN fix tomorrow. I also have constant issues with the battery not charging (regardless of having my blower on 5) so I'm going to ask to have it tested/replaced. There was visible confusion when I was discussing the issues with the desk folks so confidence is low. Fingers crossed though!
Let’s say they can’t “fail” your 12V battery/batteries, have you considered replacing them anyway? Also, will this TSB apply to all PB’s regardless of experiencing the SSN event?I have about 10500 miles on my 23PB purchased in March. Stopped at dealership last week to make appointment for oil change and to discuss the TSB for the SSN. The service manager informed me that even though I have not had the SSN since September my PB is “still throwing multiple codes nearly daily.”
She suspects it may be the 12V battery insufficiently charging. (I run the fan on >5 for all short trips and I idle once reaching home until the ICE shuts off.) We made a plan to leave it overnight next week so they can try to test, charge and retest the 12V. She said they would replace the 12V if they can fail it. They will also perform any software “fixes” that are appropriate.
I’m hoping this is not going to make what has only happened once become more of a problem or introduce other problems. I really am enjoying my 23 PB XLT with Sport Package. I will report on this thread…
Good question. Since the expense of replacing the batteries is a small fraction of what I am paying for this vehicle, I probably would. But I’m frugal and I haven’t had a SSN since the first one in September, so I might table that decision for a while.Let’s say they can’t “fail” your 12V battery/batteries, have you considered replacing them anyway? I picked up my PB from the dealer today. The battery tested “fine” by which they mean @ 12.8 amps. They applied the software update according to TSB 23-2317 w/o an issue and test drove it for ~5 miles reporting no messages or codes.I have about 10500 miles on my 23PB purchased in March.
