Apparently I’m one of the very few people that actually uses Park Assist, so Ford is removing the technology from all future vehicles. I don’t use it often because it’s SLOW, but it’s nice to have in some of the tight suburban parking areas, especially in the older neighborhoods. If nobody is behind me, sometimes I‘ll turn it on.

If it correlates with a reduced MSRP or the return of deletes that people actually use (heated steering wheel/bed camera etc) I'm all for it! Not holding my breath though!

Way back when the 2011 Explorers first came out I test drove one and the salesman had me demo the park assist to show me the cool new tech that was going to change the world in an area that had almost street level curbs. It then proceeded to sideswipe a telephone pole at the edge of the sidewalk damaging the rear quarter panel. None of us noticed it until it was too late because we were mesmerized watching the car drive itself and the pole was essentially in the blind spot of the backup camera since it was to our side.

Thankfully the dealership was really cool about it and didn't fight me on it and try to make me pay for the damage or anything, but ever since then I decided I didn't need any vehicle to park itself for me.

What I would like to see if a feature like Tesla and Hyundai (and probably others?) have where you can use the keyfob to pull the car out of tight spaces so when someone parks close to you can have the truck pull itself forward a bit and get in without risking door dings.

Or you can do what I do..... park someplace else. I have even parked on the edge of the city and taken a bus because I know parking where I have to go sucks...just saying.

I drive my 22 Platty into Boston and have to get into tight spots. I use the park assist only in the city.
I like this feature and use it . The cars behind just have to wait for the park assist to complete. Takes less than a minute.

I had a 2015 lariat that I used it on about 25 times in tight spots. Was actually pretty handy sometimes.
But the version on my 21 platinum I do not like. You have to hold the button above the middle screen and it sucks.

My truck came with "Active Park Assist 2.0" Delete. It's annoying because they left the useless hard |P| button on the dash above the Sync4 screen and they left the useless outermost sensors on the front and back bumpers.

This is all part of the announcement back in May '23 where Ford said they would drop 2400 parts from the F-150. Obviously this would not be on any one truck but on all of them in cumulative. The park assist will remove several items along with the dropping of the limited trim as well as the appliques on the higher trim tailgates just to name a few.

I've actually parked in spaces that park assist wouldn't attempt on my last truck. So I ordered this one without park assist. With all of the additional camera views on these trucks you don't really need it

I’m pretty sure those sensors are still used for other functions, like BLIS and proximity warnings. Though I’m with you on the lPl button—I’m guessing that they kept that one in place because the delete was a rapid response to parts shortages, and they likely didn’t have parts that would otherwise fill that hole.

I don't have Park assist on my 21 Lariat, but I do have the P button. It turns off the front sensors on my truck.
