That's awesome! My truck seems to be a bit "buggy" from a software perspective overall. Working in a software environment gives me some patience. I'm hoping they will fix the bugs with over the air updates.

I contacted Ford Support through a chat online yesterday and opened a ticket regarding the need to push the software update to Gen14 trucks with Pro Trailer Back Up, so that we can take advantage of the stickers when calibrating.

Anyone else who has a couple of minutes to do this, I think it would help in getting the software engineers motivated to push that update out.

I'm debating using the harness and sensor which came with the truck, but only until the update is pushed. I want to get out with the Airstream, and there are a couple of campgrounds which I had in mind when I went with the F150 for this feature when selecting a truck.

I'm on it. I hit them up once already but will follow up again now that I am learning more about it. Thanks!

I did the same through Ford’s Facebook Page. They assigned me a case number and they are moving it up the chain to the truck team.

If they would sell those sensor backing plates separate, we could transfer the sensor from trailer to trailer pretty easily.

You guys are doing great work! Maybe mine being so delayed will reap the benefit that I'll be able to update to sticker mode. I'll join the filing a ticket club when I actually get my truck.

Okay, Ford Truck support gave me a call (heavy foreign accent), then transferred me to SYNC support (again heavy foreign accent), who transferred me to a local dealer because according to them I was not qualified to set up PTBA by myself even though they provide the directions, decals, and even the sensor. Tech specialist at the dealership is at lunch and is supposed to call me back. Not looking good. Doesn’t look like Ford wants to admit there is a problem with SYNC so don’t hold your breath waiting on a software update. Will report back when I learn more.

Ford is gonna fix it by issuing an update - an update to the document that says "future software update to use stickers". And fire the person who wrote the documentation.

This is by far the best explanation I have seen on the 2021 pro backup assist. It shows how to place sensor on a convention trailer, etc.

I've watched, but it doesn't apply to the SYNC4 system

Sorry, I thought that was another video. This one is for the hardwire sensor.

See the screenshot from my chat with Ford Support. "There will be an update coming..." It's odd they released this truck and removed the sticker option that worked so well with my 2016 XLT.
