NOTE: Not Compatible with F-150 Lightning or 2024 F-150
As others mentioned the Tremor skid plate swap will not interfere with (to the best of my knowledge) any version of an engine skid plate. That's good to know. I'll order the Tremor skid plate. It looks so much better than the airdam - and appears to provide better clearance.
That’s interesting. Thanks for pointing that out. I should be ok losing an inch of ground clearance for a better approach angle. I’m sure swapping the factory air dam for the tremor skid plate will make the approach angle much better. As others mentioned the Tremor skid plate swap will not interfere with (to the best of my knowledge) any version of an engine skid plate.
After installing mine I did observe that the tremor skid plate actually reduced my ground clearance an inch or so compared to the RCI plate it replaced. As @NiftyF150 mentioned in that thread it is more accurate to say that the tremor swap will improve your approach angle, not ground clearance. I posted in detail here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...id-plate-swap-loss-of-ground-clearance.23506/
Yes, that is the part that many are painting silver to match skid plate. Some have luck and found they can wipe off primer with silver paint underneath.Looks like it does, but can anyone confirm that the ford kit replaces the trim piece circled here? Mine is broken along with the air dam and thought that would be a good time to do the swap.![]()
Hi there, just came across the thread and noticed the grille, would you be able to direct me to where you found it?Mine is done too. I painted the bumper cover to match. Wondering if black would be better. Red hooks to come..

Did you ever get an answer on this?Have you looked at your frame holes?
I have a May 2021 job 1 build and appear to have correct frame hole spacing. I do have a bracket for intercooler occupying the holes though on my 2.7 truck.

I saw someone commented about the intercooler bracket occupying the hole you’re mounting the skid plate to. How did you solve for this?Today I finished installing this kit on my Rattler. No real surprises but it did take most of the day. If you're mechanically inclined the instructions found online from Ford will work. The grill and bumper have to come off. The mounts on the inside of the bumper have to be removed and the fog lights if you have them. This is so you can remove and install stuff on the bumper. Overall not a bad job and I really like how it looks. Now I don't have to worry about tearing off that air dam.

I haven't installed it yet, but I have the correct frame holes on my 2021 late job 1 frame. I need to paint the silver plastic part now that it is warming up. Bigger issues to address with more warranty work first.Did you ever get an answer on this?
looks pretty sweet. is this a kit for the 2024 that is now available or something you did custom? Here is the 24 with the Skid.![]()
