I would think if anything it would be the right side that might need a tweak?

Is this 'self-maintaining' (constantly drains to the crankcase), not requiring occasional manual emptying of the cans like some (most?) aftermarket versions?

Says there are filters in there. No mention of any maintenance requirements

I installed a catch-can a bit over a year ago. I've collected the drainage. It is mostly water/gasoline with a small amount of oil. I would not want this kind of drainage into the crankcase. Keep in mind that water is one of the byproducts of combustion. You cannot keep it out of the collected stuff in the catch-can.

Another description says "easy to drain". So I assume not into the oil pan.

$750 o_O:crazy: Glad my 5.0 has a JLT for $160. I'd like to see what "easy to drain" looks like...

Finally went and had a look. Doesn’t look like it will work as the drivers side pipe on my truck has an electrical connector that’s not shown in the instructions

Like others, I too am intrigued by this offering from Ford, but am left a head full of questions:

- Much has been written in this forum and elsewhere regarding "Universal catch-can" products, and a legitimate debate as to if they are actually necessary, with good points on both sides.
- Being offered by Ford Performance (i.e. Ford itself), does this end the debate as to the necessity / validity of an oil/air separator / catch-can product? To me, Ford getting involved adds credibility to the argument for using one.
- Within the aforementioned forum discussions of catch-cans, it has been suggested - if not outright stated - that only one catch-can is required (on the passenger side), and yet the Ford product is addressing both sides. Hmmm......
- As noted by others, I don't see anything specific as to what happens with the oil substance that was separated. Is it reintroduced into the oil system? Drained? How? (PN M-6766-35T states that it can be easily drained, but that is for 2017-2020 EBs; M-6766-35TA is for 2021-3024 EBs, and I haven't seen anything about draining.)
- At least to me, the fact that it is being offered by Ford, adds some credibility to the debate of necessity. That being said, I'm not looking for additional maintenance hassle, and the "universal catch-cans" strike me as much more straightforward in dealing with the unwanted captured fluids.
- Retail/List Price is $750, but other Ford internet dealers are selling it closer to $600. Nice savings, but still many times more than a "universal catch-can".

I'll be curious as to what further unfolds in this thread.

I currently have a jlt

the ford product provides 100% coverage by having two cans, one for each side. Also they keep the hose length to a minimum which reduces condensation and keeps freezing to a minimum

Are you removing a large volume of contaminates with your catch can?
