It looks like the Super Duty boards will fit the F150 with maybe a lower step depth. Would these boards and this DSM work?

I am not finding the mounting bracket for the module...
The new DSMs are only $100 from ford, don't spend $200 on ebay

If anyone is looking at this and wants to do it. I have a set of 2023 running boards that are direct take offs after the owner got home. I decided after I bought them that I no longer wanted to actually install them and am looking to get some money back on them. I'm around Omaha Nebraska but travel often through Kansas and Oklahoma. Can send pics or marketplace listing I currently have up. (2023 running boards with kick switch in excellent condition. Asking $1,000)

If you wanted to come to dallas I can do it. The harness will work for your truck. I dotn have any instructions. We just received the production harnesses.
Hey Jesse,

I am in the Austin area.

I have a new truck to pick up soon and want to get the power boards installed.
Its a 2024 Lariat Crew 502A

Do you know if it will require your harness and a DSM or if my DSM will work?

How can I purchase the harness and DSM if needed?

Thank you in advance.

For a lariat you need a new DSM and I can’t say for sure on the 24 what you for the harness .. the super duty seat harness had the PRB already wired at the dam and only had to add truck side.

so I would need to see your connector on the seat side

As soon as I take delivery, I will get back with you. That will probably be just after the 1st.

Hello,
I have a 2024 F250 lariat with the ultimate package, which includes power running boards. I also have a sport package and the boards were deleted for fixed boards. I assume I have the correct DSM,
DSM.jpg

The C311 and c313 are missing pinouts for the RB harness. I am assuming that the DSM is wired to the C311 and C313, but I have not dug into it yet to confirm

I have made a few harnesses in the past, and plan to do this one, but the roadblock I'm running into is getting the correct pins. Some of the are listed as proprietary parts on Mouser, and some are not listed at all.

You can buy pigtail repair kits from Ford that you then splice, but I'd like to avoid the splices if possible. Is there a cross reference for the pins?

Please see the attached spreadsheet showing pin numbers

Thanks

Nope, that is the lower spec DSM so you'll need the higher spec one, MU5Z14C708G. Luckily the correct higher spec one is dirt cheap now and cheaper than the non PRB spec which makes no sense but that's Ford for ya.

Check those pins on the seat harness side going into the DSM, if they are populated you are good, if they are empty you'll need a new seat harness as well. As cheap as Ford is getting, if it isn't spec'd with it, most likely isn't wired for it anymore.

You only need to tap into one wire if you go my method with the correct seat harness and pin the cab side on the two main connectors.

Thanks, were you able to find this module online? I was not able to find it to confirm whether or not it had PRB. I'm thinking it may be a supercession part. At any rate, I'm prepared to do a seat harness if necessary

Did you swap the extend and retract wires? They are swapped between 21+ F150 boards and SD boards.
Looks like there is a new option in the APIM I forgot to add maybe for newer trucks/software that wasn't there before. That will give you the PRB options under features.

7D0-09-02 xxxx xxx* xx--, enable Running Board Control Function (RBCF)
I got mine installed last weekend and I love them so much it’s a tie with the cooled seat and stereo upgrade. The super duty’s are a little low when you look at it, but the perfect height for getting in and out. The harnesses were not too bad to make. I had about 6 hours in the wiring and testing and maybe an hour putting the boards on when I had it on the hoist for oil change. I did have to reverse the wires as mentioned previously because they went the wrong way. I love having control so I can leave them in or out when needed. I highly recommend this upgrade.
Now that I have ordered mine I can share this. One more pair left, new super duty take offs. One pair left.

NO, I don't need another project! Someone please buy the last one!!!
Well thanks to @Iceman2022 and @superfordman looks like another project is in the works but wanted to confirm some things.

I'm installing this on my 2021 Lariat 501a
- Getting the SD PRB from the eBay link above
- Ordering DSM MU5Z14C708G
- Be sure to correct SD motor "Stow & Deploy" wiring

Since I have a 21" 501a will there be any other wiring harness things do I need / may encounter?
What is needed for the kick switch? really couldn't piece solid info on this.

@superfordman / @Jesse-Infotainment - When I get the new DSM should I load my As-Built and than make the Forscan changes as needed?

I made my harness for a kick switch to be added, it's simply a signal to the DSM and a ground. It's not part of the 6 pin board motor harness. Honestly it's not worth the effort given the odds of landing the complete F150 board/harness (certainly not worth ford's prices). That said however you can install a momentary around the bed to make it deploy.

Furthermore given that AMP makes the older boards, and I also have a set of amp boards, the 250 and amp boards are not interchangeable with each other's arms. As such I've found no confirmation if you can simply swap the kick switch boards onto the 250's arms or if they're unique mounting interfaces given different manufacturers of the parts.

The kick switch is almost not worth the time given the boards deploy upon approach with fob in pocket -- which has its own drawbacks and benefits.

Yep, Ford parts is the only way to go and only thing I use. Since they actually list the part number now its very easy to find.

https://dealer.parts.ford.com/shop/...hair-<br>a-used-to-settings-for-p-mu5z14c708g

PU5Z-14A699-*** is the seat harness you'll need if needed, but hard to say which one based off your spec and the part descriptions don't list the PRB feature, but I'd say the more expensive ones for sure would have everything.

Good deal, you're on the right track.

Since you have a 21 501A you "should" already have the right seat harness. That was my last truck I put them on and it was good from the factory. I actually swapped the harness from it to my 23 now since it came with the cheaper less PRB harness.
You're even pre-wired for Bluecruise also I bet if you want to get real crafty, my 21 was.

Like @HammaMan said I wouldn't waste your time with the kick switch. I had plans to try and add it as well but didn't see the need after I got them on, just open the door and there you go. Plus I always run mine on delayed retract. I looked high and low to find some kind of similar kick switch to mount and couldn't find anything I liked.

Save your asbuilt DSM but if its still like it was when it did it, it won't go straight across. The higher spec DSM has a few extra lines you have to account for, unless newer software changed that but doubtful. Just compare the two, add the extra blank values to your asbuilt and then it should write to the new DSM.

A much better option than the kick switch would be a way to enable and disable the running boards from the outside. There’s so many times that I go in and grab something real quick, it creates pointless wear and tear.

Great, now Blucruise. I'm in the process of finally adding the 360 camera's anything else I need to add?
