Saw this article this morning. Ford is going to end X-Plan for shareholders, wondering if they plan to do away with all X-Plan discounts? https://fordauthority.com/2022/05/ford-shareholder-vehicle-discount-program-to-end-in-june/

"To this point, those that held at least 100 shares of Ford stock for six months were eligible to receive a Ford X-Plan PIN. However, as of June 1st, 2022, that will no longer be the case as the Ford shareholder vehicle discount program is now set to end. The program was originally created with the intention of putting shareholders behind the wheel of new Blue Oval vehicles at pre-determined prices, but that will soon no longer be the case.
Shareholders that qualify for this program still have a few days to act, however. Ford included a form with its shareholder letter that can be filled out with basic information such as the person’s name, address, and the vehicle they’re interested in. Shareholders can submit that form, along with proof of Ford stock ownership, and still receive a PIN that effectively gives them X-Plan pricing through December 31st, 2022.
From there, shareholders can visit any Ford or Lincoln dealer, who can confirm the individual’s X-Plan eligibility via their social security number and PIN. After choosing an eligible vehicle, the customer will receive a dealer invoice with the discounted price of that model, after which they can arrange financing or purchase the vehicle outright, then take delivery."

They canned it for Canadian mustang club members too recently, really glad I squeezed in with the discount last year (around 5 grand)

my dealer told me he wouldn’t be surprised if they phased it out all together

Yep, my thoughts also, I think X-Plan is going away. It’s kind of a big deal right now though. Back when we had a stable vehicle market, X-Plan was ok, but you could usually haggle for a better discount. Now for many folks who don’t wish to travel for a deal, finding a dealer that will accept X-Plan is a huge savings for them.

X-plan is one of the few recourses for buyers who don’t want to pay ridiculous doc. fees or full MSRP from their local dealership.

Ford has flip-flopped over the Bronco and Lightning being eligible, maybe they’re doing this to save face.

It sucks for the casual buyer that wants to avoid haggling but there are better deals out there for those who want to make the extra effort.

i doubt its going away
FORD makes a to much money having the program and establishing partners I am in DAV and we are millions strong.
i can see lower programs like 100 shares going away easy
but if its canned for everyone, then i guess it is what it is and i shop elsewhere.
x plan saves me money, but i have also bought fords for a good bit less than x plan

Should kill it all together. Can’t find a dealer that participated.

I've purchased my "forever truck" (wife's words) with X-Plan recently and was pleased with the deal we got. To me it was a plus-plus deal as I had bought Ford stock at about $6 a share a couple of years ago with the X-Plan in mind. It's now more than double that and they started paying dividends.

There were several places that were accepting it just over a year ago, and once production stoppages started and the shortages on vehicles started, dealers stopped accepting it.

I used it to order my 22 Platinum. It saved about 5K from the MSRP. The first Ford dealer wouldn't take the X-plan, but I did find another local dealer who has happy to take it.

my current truck was purchased using x plan. a month before the same dealer, different sales guy said NO
truck had been sitting on their lot since nov, we bought it end of april.
so i called the day before in response to an email from the dealer asking if i was still interested in the 150 kr.
worked out very well plus the 2500 pco and 500 off through another program on top of the x plan discount. i didnt tell them about the pco until they handed me x plan price and then they filed the pco and stuff, and gave me a very good deal on the 21 250 lariat trade.
if any one has x plan, just shop around, you are not required to buy the vehicle in your area.
it was a good for all, i was getting ready to put more aggressive tires and a factory winch on the 250, plus ordering a topper. we had an appointment to go set that deal
