Once I finally get my truck I plan on buying an ESP. I wonder if this oil pump belt failed say maybe in year 6 will the ESP take care of it or what if for some reason it failed during the original factory warranty would it be replaced too or is it considered a consumable item?

Non issue. Kevlar belt.
I'm not an expert, but Kevlar isn't anything close to a lifetime material. Vibrations, stress, and impacts cause degradation over time. This is the first I've seen mention of the belt for the oil pump at all though honestly. I wonder what the service interval is?

It’s not called out as a maintenance item. The 2.7 EcoBoost has used a belt driven oil pump since 2018 and you don’t hear about people changing them.

Isn’t this the engine that just got a recall on oil pump belt last this week?

Not to my knowledge. The 1.0 got the recall, and articles mention that the NHTSA was investigating catastrophic failures in the 2.7. Those failures were due to a cheaper alloy being used in the valves causing them to become brittle and break, grenading the engine.

Oh so that wasn’t even a belt issue. If the belts on those are holding up that’s good because I believe those have been out a while.
