Ford closes plants due to chip shortages

Some light reading while the unlucky waits for their trucks.....

Not sure if anyone saw this yet but found some recent news about chip shortages causing shut down at other Ford factories in US, Germany, and India. Seems other auto makers are getting hit as well. No mentions of F150.... but damn COVID!!! Let me get my truck already!

Sounds like you should be fine, down the road could become a problem if they don't get it resolved. Looks like late spring may be when things could get really bad and yours should be built long before than.

Ford would shut down most, if not all of their production before they touch the F series though.

I'm already making backup plans to my backup plans. searching for incoming 21s with options I want that are now getting delivered to dealers stock.

May not be a bad idea. You know it's getting bad if they are starting to slow the F150 production.

I just texted my salesman with a link to the article. He said that he thought it would affect stock orders more than the retail orders already in place with VINs. I have a build week of 3/1. We shall see...but I wonder if this had anything to do with some of the others who have been pushed out already.
