No, the Hybrid battery is just the opposite.
+ is amps drawn from, or supplied by the battery.
- is amps replenishing/charging the battery.

THAT'S why I was confused.
I've been monitoring the Hybrid voltage and current for months! My brain was trained.

Then this thread had me add in the 12V pids to monitor the same activity, but the +- is the opposite. So it appears.

Interesting
Honestly, I think negative current being absorbed/charging current makes way more sense. Lol

But again, that might just be my bias after being trained to see it that way for so long.

I added HV Current and HV Current High. Definitely - is adding and + is subtracting. I wonder what the difference is between the two? They were not very far off from each other.

My battery leaving work was 12.47 and 97% SOC. .01 volt higher = -1.0% lower SOC. WTF??
At 97% the truck did actively charge the battery 20a tapering off to 1a by the time I got home. SOC never moved off of 97%

That large battery draw is the ICE starting at slow speeds. Like from a stop sign, (more like rolling thru a stop sign) Starting the ICE at high speeds had no effect. Only low. Maybe below 10mph. I'll play more tomorrow.

I got my truck on Dec. 6, went outside this morning and no courtesy lights or interior lights. The truck was in a deep sleep. The wife only drives about 2 mins to work but I find it odd that a 2 month old truck is having a low battery issue already. Going to put it on a charger tomorrow. Concerned if this will be a on going issue with the short drives after watching the video.

For anyone with an ICE truck that is wondering what the digital alternator looks like. (officially called a DC/DC converter, by Ford)
High Voltage connectors on top
12V connector and coolant hose seen on the front face.
Looks expensive.

That thing looks like part of a spaceships life support system.. looking at that I think my shade tree mechanic days are over! Although I'm really starting to like doing all of my wreching with a laptop.

It actually has screws and cover plates and connectors. So you don't want to take one apart? :)

At 300V and better than 65 Amps just when tapping the brakes, I don't think I wanna be touching the thing with a screw driver.

Is it an optical illusion, or does that negative terminal not sit tightly on that mounting plate?

That ground strap?

The actual ring the bolt goes through is flat and tightly fastened. But yes, the bar is curved up after the bolt hole. Don't know if it was designed that way, Mr. Eagle Eye.

You know in few years, this new technology will start to look and be common place. I can hear it now "Lady you need a new inverter, I can get one for you over at the Napa store and you'll be on road in an hour"

And yes, give me a six pack and a screwdriver and I can fix just about anything! 😂

That is the Inverter System Controller (ISC/sobdmc) that converts DC power to 3-Phase AC power to the electric drive motor. The DC/DC Convertor is actually below and forward of this component of the Powerboost HVE system.

Wow. Didn't realize the motor was 3 phase AC. That's crazy! Wonder what voltage?
