Ford Bed Ramp Kit fitment on a 2021 F150 with work surface tail gate

Hey guys, I have a 2021 F150 Limited, and I will be using the truck to move my race bikes to and from the track. My buddy has a 2019 Raptor with the stowable bed ramp options, where he can lock/slide the ramps on the end of the tail gate. Now for our trucks, we have the work surface, but when you buy the ramps do you simply screw on the ramp bracket plate onto your tailgate over the work surface? I am unclear how this will work or fit, and can't find anyone that did it before.

I can t help you with the ramp fitment but if you are talking road race bikes you may want look into a different ramp that’s longer.

I don’t think the Ford ramps fit with the work surface because there is a plate that mounts on the top part of the tail gate. I could be wrong but I was looking into this earlier this year and read somewhere on Fords website that the ramps don’t work with the work surface.

Hey flat, that’s correct. So what can I do to modify or replace the work surface is the next question. I really wanna stow the ramps like my buddies 2019 raptor.

Hey capt, my buddy has a 2019 raptor and transports his race bike with out any issues. I do have a longer aluminum ramp but want to use the stowable ones if possible.

Don't recall actual model but years ago I bought an arced ramp similar to below to load my full dresser. Nothing better than your feet never leaving the ground. As long as you don't mind just stowing them. Mine breaks down into 3 equal lengths and just lay along the side of the truck bed.

Thanks John, I actually have one of these, but I think mine is a 2 not 3 ramps wide. I will use them until I find a solution to use the stowable Ford option....ty!

Ok, what is the diff btwn these 2 part numbers besides the 2021 and 2020-2015 fitment?

I called a dealer and they cant even tell me....

Hey Flat, I actually went to my buddies house where he has his 2019 raptor and for ramps. I can stow and also use the ramps, but have to use a tie down for each one so they dont pull out from underneath when walking/moving bikes (which is fine to be honest). The biggest question was do they fit in the bed stowed. Now the tailgate bracket he has with the rod that runs across that you slide the ramp on has mounting holes in diff locations than my work surface. Im sure I can get it to work, but dont need to really, tie downs are fine. I am just curious now as to what is the diff in part numbers for the 2021 and 2020-2015 ford ramps...

HAHA, yes, I noticed that too, its very confusing!!!

I actually ordered the 2015-2020 ramps today, $616 shipped to my door. The 2021 ramps were $125 more and parts dept could not tell me why. What they did state is the ramps, cleats, ramp L brackets for box link are all the same, but the ramp tail gate bracket that has the rail which the ramp would slide onto is most likely different. But I cannot use either the 2015-2020 or 2021 tailgate ramp brackets regardless because I have a power tailgate with work surface.

So the plan is to just simply use tie downs for the ramps while in use so they dont slide out when walking my motorcycles up and down the ramp.

I hear ya, I have ramps like the ones you posted. But I love the fact that I can stow the Ford ramps and integrate them Into the bed.

Loaded up the bikes with the ramps using tie downs, no problems. Working on a solution for the ramp plate that it comes with which I can’t use since it’s a powered tailgate with work surface.
