As im waiting for my PB to arrive im trying to armor up with all the best cords, etc for the pro power system. Along with the dogbone you linked to above, what is the longer extension you’re running? Any other key cords/strips that you recommend?

I concur!
I'm an RV full timer for about 7 years now.
A quality Air Conditioner soft start is win-win for lots of reasons, but none better than the reduced burden on ProPower generator. :)
What I liked about this specific soft start device is that you don't need to touch the A/C units themselves. Just plug it inline with your power cord.

I've been using the MicroAir EasyStart w/Dometic 13.5k a/c for a little over a year. Install was easy I thought. Honda 2200i has no problem with it. I suspect my new PB 7.2Kw arriving Monday will also have no problem! I'm equally looking forward to *not* rolling out my portable noisy Generac 8Kw when the house power goes out!!

I will look into that one, the one I'm use (orange) came with the TT, my dealership gave me a starter kit, Drinking hose, 30 Shore power cable, surge protector, TP and black tank odor control, Water Pressure regulator, drinking hose, dump hose etc. Nice little kit.

As for power cords, the long one came with my TT. Its a 30amp shore power cable. So depending on your setup you may need a different cable/dog bones. Check out this video, Tom did a 4 part series on using the onboard generator. This really helped me and also this forum is great also.

I'm in the EMS camp, more expensive but does more than a simple surge protector. I have the Hughes one. I'm also a fan of a hard-wired unit, don't want to deal with another adapter.

I'm not clear if the new SoftStart-RV has all the protection features, if it did that could be the perfect device.

The softstartRV that I have is ONLY for the air conditioner, of course. So there's no protection for the RV from a nasty shore power source.

I didn't know that there was a device that protected the entire RV from poor power (surge or short) as well as soft starting the Air Conditioner compressor?

Just got my 2023 Flagstaff E-PRO 20FBS travel trailer last week and towed it home (30 miles). The TT GVWR is 4400# fully loaded and 3517# UVW, so my PB had no problems towing it. I tested the ProPower and turned on all the appliances and A/C. ProPower did a great job. I can be totally off the grid between the solar and PB. This truck is awesome. Doing some driveway camping to make sure everything is working before hitting the road.

That's my question as well. It would be great if the 'whole rv' softstart-rv did both but I don't think it does... hoping someone maybe knew.

Way to go! I’ve been using my PB with ProPower Onboard just this way for a little more than a year now; my TT is an Airstream Basecamp 20X. No problems at all. Safe travels!

Did about 6000 miles this fall with an Oliver Elite 2 (the egg, 2019 hull 546, about 6000lb loaded) and our 21 PB with no issues. Didn't actually need the 7.2 generator but did test it it with the 240v output with a dog bone (think that's about 30amp o/p, eg one leg of the 240) and all good on the a/c. We do have a soft start circuit on the Dometic Penguin which did well with the previous Honda 2200. Very comforting to have the generator as a back up if the situation required.
