First street test vs newer Ram hemi

I decided to test my new 5.0 Screw against an over zealous Ram driver yesterday. First extended WOT and first try in sport mode.

Considering the 5.0 makes more power than the Hemi and is in a lighter truck I think the result is known

I will say, though, that the transmission shifts were a little erratic. I think it was confused lol. But it could have been me being a little indecisive on the throttle.

Combination perhaps lol. I have found that leaving the traction control on in Sport Mode 2WD is enough for my PB to leave most other trucks behind. For my XLT it's just a turn of the dial and drop the hammer. The 570lb/ft(resistance is futile) does the rest

Sometimes the 10R80 doesn’t know what to do if you jerk the throttle around. If you are going wide open just plant your foot and let it spin, if you back off then go back in to the throttle the computer is making alot of adjustments fast and the transmission may select a different gear then jump down again producing a rough shift.

You're right. I've stomped the gas on occasion and It doesn't obey my command. like it's thinking to itself, "He never does this, surely his foot slipped or something. I'll just speed up a little like I normally do and see if he even notices" lol

Now, if I smoothly push the accelerator to the floor prepare for max Q!

I love how the Rams have the loudest exhaust, hood scoops, dual tips and big emblems bragging about their engines...and are one of the slowest in the industry. They would beat a 2.7 on the highway, but not at a stoplight. That's about it. Oh and a smidge faster than a Chevy with the small V8.

WOT = Wide Open Throttle
Legal until they exceeded the posted speed limit and only pride was injured I believe
