Drove our 2024 F-150 STX 5.0L over 1,000 miles before towing with it.

Towed our travel travel trailer to Bandit's Roost ACE campground in North Carolina for the first trip. Really like how the tow/haul mode works and how the F-150 handles our trailer. Before the camping trip added Husky floor mats, Husky mud flaps, convex mirrors, Ford trailer brake controller, bed mat, Timbren SES rear suspension enhancement system, side rails, Ford Performance differential cover (wanted a drain) and Diamondback bed cover. This trailer weighs in at 4,940 pounds with empty water tanks (our ready to camp mode) and has a 490 pound tongue weight.

This rig is a good match with the F-150 handling the trailer easily.

Bandit's Roost is a nice campground with electricity and and water at many sites except for the tent sites. Paid $15 per night with the America The Beautiful Senior card, normally $30 per night. :) There are several sites with great lake views.

Looks great! Love the ACE campgrounds and the America the beautiful card. We camp at a couple here in Illinois. Full hookup $13. Also very well maintained!

Agree, we love to camp at ACE campgrounds, too. We like Dam West ACE campground when in Illinois.

Thanks!

Appreciate the kind comments!

Took this shot the first day I towing with the F-150 and impressed with how the F-150 handled our 4900 pound camper.

We spend time in the North Carolina mountains this time of year, hope to post additional rig mountain photos. Should spend some time camping in Virginia mountains this year, too.

We hope to buy a smaller pickup next year in addition to the F-150 and it probably will be a Maverick or Ranger after our positive experiences with the F-150. The F-150 was our first new Ford pickup we have owned, but have to admit I used to drive a F-250 at work and also an F-350 mechanic's boom truck with good service from both.

Thanks,
