We have the first video look and listen at the next-gen 2022 F-150 Raptor!

Compared to the current Raptor’s higher pitched 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, we hear signs of a possible deeper V8 rumble, but have a listen and you can decide for yourselves. Regardless, as the Ram Rebel TRX debut is only days away, it should be interesting how the Raptor/TRX battle shapes up.

Hard to say. Sounds like a V6 Ecoboost to me with a modified exhaust. Hard to tell as it’s never WOT and most of the video where you’d hear the exhaust better to make the distinction is when the camera is stuck outside the window so all you hear is wind noise. ?

STILL NO V8???????? OHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!??
A V8 would be nice and I’d like for the Raptor to have a supercharged Coyote but honestly, it’s really not needed for anything except having a better and more pleasing to the ear sound.

Performance wise, the Raptor as a whole will be a more balanced package.

The audio isn't very good it's hard to tell we hope it's a V8 but it's probably the tried and true 3.5 TT Raptor engine.

The audio is not good, but I don't hear any indication the engine has changed. One of the selling point of the Limited is that it comes with the 'Raptor Engine'. If Ford was dropping that motor from the Raptor, they would have nixed it in the 2021 Limited. All that said, they could roll out a variation of the Raptor (the Raptor R) with big V8 power.

The engine lineup for the 14 Gen F150 does list the HO 3.5 so something has to take it’s place.

My money is on a Hybrid TT V6 with a larger displacement that the 3.0 Hybrid from the Lincoln Aviatior Grand Touring which makes 494HP and 630 TQ.

I can’t believe how many articles online are actually saying and asking if this is the sound of a V8 in the new Raptor spotted testing because it’s obvious that’s the sound of an EB V6.

One guy said that he could hear the wine of a supercharger in the same video.

Lol ?

Let’s not forget, the 3.5 EB in the Ford GT makes 647 HP and in the Mark 2 version, the same engine makes 700HP.
