I couldn't imagine all the time it took cutting and splitting three truckloads without a hydraulic splitter. Mad props dude. Looks like way more than 1k lbs to me on each of those.

Hey thanks. It's not too bad if you can find something close to the road but that's hardly ever the case. I think the worst part of it is manually hauling it out of the bush. Splitting at the end of the day sucks but a couple beers gets you through

Weight wise, I wonder....the overpacked loads should be more than 1k lbs, yep. I really expected that I'd need to put more air in the air bags but at 20 PSI it really only squatted a couple inches and I was too lazy to increase it. I've done 7 truck loads now and I think I need to get more ....three of them were just at box height so I didn't post those, then 4 were over packed like the pics here.

Back at it again We finally had a couple dry days. I found this great spot higher up. Bigger deadfall up there; Douglas Fir and Larch. About 4.5 hours for a half cord both days! But man do my bones ache. I'm probably getting too old for 10 out of 15 days splitting.

Sorry I totally missed this -- Gladly! It was a good year, didn't get as many pics but got 5 chords.

Had my finger crushed when trying to rotate 200+ lb stump end and I lost my footing on a burnt out hillside. I stayed up there another 8 hours to finish the load because I didn't want someone poaching my hard work. Then went to the hospital for 8 stitches. They said I should have gone immediately because the inflammation rose so much that it was very difficult to close- it took 2 hours and lost a whooole lot more blood than the picture shows (Pic below not for the squeamish!).

Now I can't close my middle finger fully. But the adventure was totally worth it

The tree that killed my finger! You can see how burnt out the hillside is- Apparently it was from a lightning strike but the fire was contained quickly by water bombers.

Broke a tail light from a bad toss

Don't get in the way of these guys!! Active logging began and I'd run into them 2-3 times on the way up. Lucky I had installed a radio a few months prior -- it really came in handy.

Don't even know when this happened. Another $150 well spent. Don't want to think about what the saw would have done to my knee.

Hiked up a trail to the top of the world on the last day up there. The snow hit heavy a few days after that.

That first day there with the rounds on top was definitely more than I would have liked to take down the mountain. The truck has airbags and had about 30 PSI in them but I don't have an onboard compressor. The leafs weren't bottomed; ride down wasn't all that bad. After that I put 50 PSI in the airbags and all was well. Lesser loads as well.
