After a year and a half of complaining, I wanted to take a moment and share with you my new Platinum. My original order was 5/1/2021 and it was delivered 11/19/22 after some unwanted changes by Ford. I like it. I'm still adjusting to some of the head scratching programming/engineering decisions made.

Congrats thats a beautiful truck. Welcome to the Platinum club! Did the dealor give you any timeline as to when you can expect your proper badges for the fenders? It is good they came up with another way to get trucks shipped out. Sitting waiting for badges sucks.

The big one was the max recline seats. I drive to central California, and there are times that I feel like I need to catch some sleep, so I want pull over to someplace and catch some zzz's. I'm a big guy and cuddling up in the back seat may work, but most likely not.

Tonneau cover, spray in bedliner, adaptive steering (which would have come in handy not 50 feet from pulling out of the dealer), and a few others were also removed.

With all this being removed, I have referred my trim as "Diet Platinum," "Platinum Lite," or "Tungsten" (which is the element you get after removing some protons and elections from Pt).

Congrats!! I pray my 22 order doesn’t take a year and a half to show up at the dealer. But with the lack of info coming from Ford who knows. Beautiful truck.

The big one was the max recline seats.

I'd be quite pissed over the ~$2k in parts ford removed from your vehicle while offering you pennies on the dollar for it. Those seats are one of the 'big' features of the truck. More customers should hold their feet to the fire over it and force the upgrade for ~$340 or whatever joke of a credit they tossed on it. I believe the KRs had similar happen.

Many OEMs are a bit behind on consolidating their parts though. They have a lot of redundant modules that'd be better served by larger 'universal' units. Replacing 10 different modules with single multi-function unit would save money in the long run and they could bring in more suppliers on it as well. For all of the faults that tesla has, using an x86 PC architecture w/ GPU as their main brain while taking advantage of COTS busses like Ethernet and related equipment isn't one of them.

The 'brains' of current ford vehicles is a 7 yr old mobile CPU / GPU that's found in samsung galaxy S7 cell phones. In the F150 w/ 12" screen, it's not that bad, but in the larger screens like mach-e / lightning, it's shit. Given the BEVs don't need a 'warm up' like you'd want to do w/ an ICE, I'm already making my 2nd turn on public roads before I can manipulate climate / or do anything that's been moronically forced into the screen-only access realm (mach-e). The 12" F150 w/ XLT IPC boots into usability much quicker, but it's mostly irrelevant due to the fact it's got physical buttons that work within a few second of start.
