As the title says, got a check engine light for this fault today as 10,600 miles. Dealer appointment Thursday morning to diagnose.

Anyone had this?

I just had this happen on a 2023 F-150 Powerboost at about 13,500 miles. Earlier in the day, thought I’d been rear ended with a solid “think” coming from behind after I stopped. Felt a lot like a rear ending fender bender I had three weeks back. Then the check engine light comes on and the Ford app alerts me to the “Powertrain Control System has detected a fault with the auxiliary transmission oil pump.” Seems like Ford needs to get its game together since this is continuing more than a year after these original posts.

Wow, so when the electric pump fails it feels like a vehicle hit you from behind? Most electric motors do the short/open overheat burn up trick. That sounds like the pump internals are coming apart.

I had a similar incident this morning. I stopped to drop my wife off and it felt like someone bumped us from behind (Nobody was behind us). Then the check engine light came on. I checked the app and it said the power control module…Auxiliary Transmission Oil Pump... Did the dealership diagnose properly and replace the part? How long did it take (if they replaced it)? I am at 14, 8?? On my 2022 F150 Powerboost. Was the problem solved and not come back for everyone? I bought the extended warranty, mostly for the battery, but this may be what I get my money from if this happens every 12-15k miles. Thanks

Wow, so its not just me? #6 incident is exactly what I felt this morning. I stopped at a red light just off the highway and a few seconds later the truck sort of jump forward. Same error description on the FordPass app. Interestingly, I got a software update today around or just after this incident so I'm wondering if its a software issue and therefore related?

Ford doesn’t have the part. They just called and said they can install at the end of October. I asked if my truck was okay to drive. They said completely okay to drive and won’t cause any damage…then why is it on the truck in the first place?

Ha! I literally just got off the phone with my Ford dealer and they said the soonest they can get me in is Oct 11th. They also said if the CEL is not flashing it should be okay, though I'm sure we can agree that "should" doesn't give one much confidence.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, “should” is definitely one of my least favorite words. Mine never flashed, it was only on steady. Well, luckily I bought the extended warranty (mostly for the battery in the Powerboost), but maybe it will end up being for a transmission!

As a side note - if you drive in Tow/Haul mode it will prevent the issue from happening while you are waiting for the replacement part. Which of course means that it keeps you out of electric mode which defeats the purpose of the PB (and why the 'hack' works).
