I had some Continental Terrain Contacts (E-rated) put on my 2016 Ram 2500. Man, they rode rough with a lot of vibration. I took them back and 3 were out of spec (they load force tested them). They put three more on and had the same balancing issues. Same deal, 3 more were bad.This update irritates me. How many times are you supposed to go back for rebalancing before YOU have to specifically ask to check for runout? They should be doing that from the get go. Let me guess, they warrantied the tires but charged you for new “certificates”? I had similar experience with discount tire and as nice as they are, makes me want to look elsewhere.
Thanks for the update. Not all AT tires look good and beefy on 22s, but these sure do.Falken Wildpeak RT-01s back to the OP thread content.
My local Discount Tire was able to get 3 New (replacement) tires in stock to remount and balance. These 3 came back with a better run out. The store manager had noted previous tires to be;
RF .71. LF .62
RR .32. LR .52
I must have had BAD luck in getting this specific tire set. I am appreciative for John, my local Discount Tire store manager for getting me new tires under warranty and no hassle. I made an appointment to replace the 3 tires reading over .50, I'm excited to now say that all 3 are under .40.
Here is a few features I can attest to so far, on these Falken Wildpeak RT-01s.
Noise Level:
The truck does ride better, no steering wheel shake. However, the noise level on a scale 1 (quietest) - 10 (loudest). I would give these tires a 6. My previous tires were Nitto Ridge Grapplers and those were definitely quieter for reference. Definitely not a deal breaker, but I'm sure the tread patterns have a lot to do with noise. Just by looking at each brand, the Falken's have a more open lug pattern leaving more room for air to pass creating an echo noise effect.
Fuel mileage:
Yes, I read reviews noting the fuel mileage is a CON for these tires. I was consistently running 19 mpgs with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I am now running 17-18 mpg the past few weeks. Not a huge change but definitely notice a difference.
Traction:
Winter is now approaching Indiana, I am curious to see how well they do in the snow. I was driving home today coming off a ramp onto the highway, it was raining, my tail end did slide a bit without punching the throttle. It could have been due to the 1 new rear tire, I'll continue to monitor wet road traction testing.
Tread wear:
Obviously these are brand New tires for me, I have 25k miles on my Limited currently. I'll try and update in a year to review this and anything else I encounter.

@21F150Limited0702 Definitely digging the range. Nice variety!
Haha thanks, it's definitely nice instead of paying $15 a hour at my local Gun shop range.@21F150Limited0702 Definitely digging the range. Nice variety!
