Crew Cab 4WD w/3.73, 6.5 bed, tow package, 36g tank, Stock suspension and 275 65 r20 highway tires, truck loaded with two adults, labrador, loaded 12v fridge, and about 400lbs of other gear on two week+ 5000 mile trip

Calculations from fuel reciepts were closer to computer than I expected, a just a couple tenths lower mpg.

A lot of 85 mph driving in strong headwinds and cross winds across a lot of ND and SD or I think it would have done substantially better.

If traffic is moving along at 80 mph my wife gets intimidated and will drive at 80 mph. When I am in the same situation I will get in the right lane and drive at 70 mph and get much better fuel economy. One can decide whether to join the flock or not.

Awesome, so it sounds like 5.0 is more efficient at higher speeds than the 3.5?

11-12 mpg. City. E85😬
On 87 E10...it did a best of 22.7-22.8mpg 70-75mph and averaging 22.2 at 80mph. This was a 600 mile trip and it had less than 1000 miles. This is on Eco...no cruise control.. I find I get better mileage driving it ..

5.0 Lariat with 3.77, I get 17.5 mixed average 20k sample. I'm prolly 70/30 city/highway driving.

I'm liking that 22.2 at 80 mph!! I don't think the 3.5 can beat that, it'll likely be dipping in the boost at that speed. The 2.7 might be close though. I'm considering the 3.31 gears just like you have since this will mostly be a highway cruiser and don't intend on towing anything heavy.

I bought a new 2022 lariat 502a with the 5.0 and 3.73 gears yesterday and on my 200km drive home I got 15L/100 which is about 15.5 mpg. There was a strong south wing which probably hurt it a fair bit. cruise was set at 120km (74mph). rpm's stayed at 1800-1900 which I thought was a little high.

2022 SC 4x4 302A 5.0 3.31's. I use E15 and run 35x11.5R20 Ridge Grass that are heavy as hell and have a matching spare in the bed. Also have the Ford hard folding tonneau. City, easy 13-15mpg. Highway, if its under 70mph, 21-22mpg all day. Once these tires are done, I'm going to transition to the 275/65R20 Recons. Just a hair smaller but 1/3 of the weight.

Just broke 1000 miles on my 22 XLT Screw 4x4 with 3.31 and stock sized Toyo open country at3. Reset all trip settings before leaving the dealer lot. Currently at 20.7 overall and 21.5 on my current tank. Been having fun listening to the 5.0 so could definitely see a little better but happy with it so far

Right now I'm at about 19.5 with mostly city driving and it's completely stock.
