I think Sam said in recent vid pulling the batt monitor cable off doesn't actually disable cylinder deactivation.
The only supposed way is to run in Sport mode. Until they crack the encryption.
I heard corvette guys haven't cracked new Vette yet either. Trying separate boards or something.
Need our Russian buddies to get on this ASAP. LOL

I haven't had any trouble with the cylinder deactivation. Very impressed with my 5.0 mileage (crew cab, max tow). 22.9 mpg over 579 miles on 93 octane fuel. Made a round trip yesterday from CT to Conway NH plus a bit of around town the day before. Mostly 50 to 70 mph on Eco mode. Still got a ways to go before it needs more fuel!

What were the symptoms of your cylinder deactivation malfunction?
I have another thread I put in for that. Basically I have a quick surging idle and flashing engine light. I was able to limp it off the road. Shutdown and restarted, hasn’t had another hiccup so far.

On a 350 mile round trip with 2 hours highway going and coming and 3 days of around town while away averaged 20.5

I've now had this truck for 4 months.
The very best average mileage I've gotten is
16.0- Miles a gallon. I mean that's the best..
That's highway doing the speed limit
with cruise control set.
For the most part I average around
14.5 MPG combined city and highway.
Do I have a problem??
Trying to find out what others driving a V-8 are getting?
I did have an O/2 sensor go out at 800 miles,
So do I have another problem?
Appreciate any feed back I can get..
Thanks.....
UPDATE:
Took a 700 mile 10 day trip
My total trip average was 20.7.
90% highway and 10% town.
Very pleased with it now.
I simply had not taken it on enough highway miles to get the mpg I should get.
So truck is doing what I expected of it.
Happy..

17 mpg with 89 octane around town. I Always press the auto turn off button so it runs even at stop lights. Highway trip coming up soon. I love the V8. I get 20% better gas mileage than the 15 year old Ridge line I just traded in.

Just did 100 miles today on highway/interstate and got 23.4 on my trip mpg calculator in normal mode. My total average is 18.5 and going up. I’m at about 600 miles on the clock.

Very impressed with the mpgs on this thing!

Just finished a long trip of over 500 miles. I averaged around 22 mpg for the entire trip. Doing mostly 75 mph. MPG went down once I hit the mountains of Pennsylvania or else the mpg might have continued to creep up. All that said but I’m impressed with a v8 doing that well.

I've been hovering around 20 mpg. I topped out at 21+ before a/c weather kicked in. I have a regular k&n box filter and run royal purple(on my 3rd oil change)
