What kind of mileage are y’all getting while cruising 80 mph on the *interstate*. And before you say, “just slow down”…. sorry, but 65-70 mph is just way too slow on 1000+ mile road trips, not to mention you’re a road hazard for 18-wheelers and the rest of the traffic at that speed. I just got back from a 4000 mile family trip to New England from Louisiana in my 2012 3.5 Screw 4x4 and the the best I got was 17.5 mpg at 70-72 mph the whole way and back….. even after getting a full service done with new plugs and fluids. I still believe that the V8 is more efficient at faster cruising speeds (>75 mph) than the 3.5L.
Sounds about right. I'm getting 18 MPG at 75 MPH in the PowerBoost.

On E85 and my 17" wheel drag pack, mine actually does 17MPG on the highway. About 11MPG in the city would be my guess. I never pay too much attention because there's lots of WOT and idling to totally throw that off.

20.2 average @ about 15k 2023 STX, Super Crew - I live in the suburbs of Richmond Va. Combo City / Highway. Normal Mode - with some punch'in the coyote now and then thrown in for fun. Dont trailer currently but I definately haul building materials in the bed 4 -6 times a month.
If I am not horse'in it for fun I am pretty light accelerating from a stop - thats what really adds up and I leave the stop/start on about 75% of the time

I’ve only got 630 miles on mine, but when I calculated my MPG, the tank from the dealer was about 14.5MPG.

When it got down to 15 miles DTE, I put 30 gallons in. I haven’t finished the second tank but I suspect it’ll be a little better.

Well whenever you go on a long road trip via interstate after breaking in, let us know what you got.

I have a 2022 with the 5.0 I average 14 in the city and 16-18 on the highway. I found the best milage is at 55-60 mph where I've gotten 20-21 mpg, these are all in standard mode. 87 octane. These guys burning premium fuel is crazy. 1.) the high octane is only needed in higher compression engines to eliminate detonation, which the standard 5.0 is not. 2.) Higher octane cost way more per gallon so what's the point? no savings there at all. You only need high octane if you supercharge this engine and then at that point you shouldn't care about milage because it gets terrible economy with the superchargers. I work in an auto test lab with all the OEM's and that's the facts. If you wanted better milage you should have gotten the 2.7 eco boost.
5.0 is high compression engine. These engine loves e85 and runs better on high octane fuel. You should try it.

Not sure about E85 because it’s not available at many places around here, but my previous F150(2018 5.0) ran way better on premium and I’m going to continue running it in my 2023. On the ‘18 I did see slightly better fuel economy on premium too, but not enough to justify the price gap. At the end of the day, it’s a $10-20 difference when I fill up the tank. I’ve wasted more money on less. 🤷‍♂️

Because evidence is showing that the V8 is more efficient at higher hwy speeds (75+) than the 3.5 and possibly the 2.7 since the they’re in the boost at those speeds.
