I have a 2022 with the 5.0 I average 14 in the city and 16-18 on the highway. I found the best milage is at 55-60 mph where I've gotten 20-21 mpg, these are all in standard mode. 87 octane. These guys burning premium fuel is crazy. 1.) the high octane is only needed in higher compression engines to eliminate detonation, which the standard 5.0 is not. 2.) Higher octane cost way more per gallon so what's the point? no savings there at all. You only need high octane if you supercharge this engine and then at that point you shouldn't care about milage because it gets terrible economy with the superchargers. I work in an auto test lab with all the OEM's and that's the facts. If you wanted better milage you should have gotten the 2.7 eco boost.

I took 1750 mile trip with 5.0 3.73 gears, leveled and 295/70r18 tires. Combination of 80, 75 and 65 mph. Mostly bucking a head wind. Averaged 15.9 for the trip. Pickup shifts down to 8th on small inclines against the wind. Kind of annoying since it should have the ability to stay in 10th. Temperatures from 20 to 75 degrees F. Like my previous 5.4, the mpg always does better with higher temperatures.

I picked up my new 157" 5.0 4x4 with 3.31 ratio at Granger yesterday and the return drive was 838 miles.

The truck was "full" when I left. I hand calculated the first tank at 15.7 MPG. The MPG on the trip meter showed 16.4. Spent that entire segment of the trip facing a head wind across Iowa and Illinois. 1/4 of it was in Normal mode and 3/4 in Eco mode. Speed was mostly 70-74 mph.

Gassed up in Indianapolis and drove in Eco mode throughout. The terrain obviously became more mountainous the closer I got to Knoxville. Here's what the trip meter showed when I pulled into my driveway:

Just filled up my 3rd tank (still a baby!). Screen showed 12.8 l/100km (18.4mpg), hand-calculated at 13.5l/100km (17.4mpg). About 1/4 tank was finishing a highway trip then all city/country driving after that.

I baby the hell out of this truck, not ashamed to admit! Mostly been playing around to see how low I can get the mileage (when you're stuck going 40-60kmh in traffic ANYWAY, no use playing in Sport mode so ....). Its always a little depressing when you lose 1-2 mpg mileage just leaving the parking lot after work or trying to parallel park - my truck has the auto-stop/start deleted and I wish it wasn't (I might be the only person on this forum who feels this way, haha); I'd definitely be curious to see what difference it would make. I use the green mileage bar on the center display so I can moderate my throttle (when appropriate).

I have a 22 4x4 with 6700 miles and I average around 22 - 22.5 mpg. Everything is stock on except for a bed liner and tonneau cover I put on it. It also has the stock 20's.

Got mine in October. Reset the trip distances as I was leaving the lot. As of today, the Trip 2 which has not ben reset, is showing 19.5. I use trip 1 for each fill-up. Been consistently seeing between 18-21 out of most fill ups. Thats even with some light plowing mixed in too. Curious to see what it gets come nicer weather

I always leave the start/stop on..
Only works about half the time.

I don't know what the difference could be but I got what I thought was great mpg in my 2021 5.0 with 3:31 gears. I averaged around 22 mpg combined but on my hwy drive to work every day I would easily get 24 mpg in the summer.

My 2023 5.0 with 3:31 gears is blowing that away! the only difference in the trucks is that the 2021 has 18 inch wheels and the 2023 has 20 inch wheels. I am getting 26 mpg all day long and I don't know why. I am loving it, though. Hell, on my drive last week to work and back (108 miles round trip) I got 28 mpg every day but one when it was windy as hell.

I just drove to New York and back from Kansas.

On the way there I got 20.4 mpg at about 7-8 mph (72-78mph) over the speed limit

on the way home I got 20.3 MPG at between 75 and 79 MPH (9-10 over the speed limit all the way).

I run regular unleaded (cheapest) all the time. I wish I could get this mileage on my daily commute (also on I-70 @ 80 mph).

I am averaging 1.2 mpg better on my 2022 5.0 than I did on my 2015 2.7 ecoboost over their lifetimes. My 2011 3.5 Ecoboost was in the middle.

this is all hand calculated, the Lie-o-meter is always .5 to .8 mpg over optimistic

I reset my instant MPG screen beginning of April and I'm currently at 21.4. My daily commute is short and hilly so I know that puts a damper on it but the longer trips I do I've seen 22-23. Then again I do love the sound when you put the skinny pedal down so there's that too! Overall very pleased with the 5.0 since buying it last October

I’m getting 18-20 in my 2022 with about 9k miles on it. I was well over 20 before putting the 295s on it.
