Makes sense when you consider these vehicles will be at construction / job sites. It's a liability for them to be quiet like that
I hope there's a FORScan switch to disable this...

So I guess we're still in the "no way to disable" situation right now, right?

Not that I’m aware of. Doubt Ford will put anything into the ForScan coding either.

There is in fact a setting in ForScan that will disable this. However, I don’t have a power boost. So this isn’t an issue for me.

These coders and programmers better get on it!
So reading other forums this looks to be something that isn’t currently an option.
It’s it’s own module so unplugging it throws a DTC error. Forscan isn’t going to help this either. At least not at this time. I’ll find other forum I read this on and post shortly.

There’s a legal requirement for some kind of noise being made. I just wish it wasen’t so lame.

I was thinking that would be the case.

I suppose if the Powerboost was actually quite while backing up this would make sense. Even in electric mode it's still pretty noisy.

I have had it unplugged for about a week now. Only thing is it tells you on startup that the pedestrian sounder needs serviced. No engine codes.

If they wanted it to be a backup beeper, wish it was in the back, not front in line with the driver. I'm thinking about wrapping it in foam.

This!!

I have a golf cart with a back up beeper on it and I thought a piece of tape across the face would just pull it down to a reasonable volume. It turns out one piece of electrical tape was actually too quiet for what I wanted. I have to think there is a easy solution here.

Good point. It definitely comes from the engine bay.
