Anyone else notice the exterior door lock buttons are stiff and not very user friendly? They seem to take a lot more pressure to lock the truck than I’d expect.

I haven't used them yet. I've used the keyless pad for so many years, I just hit that if I've not used the interior lock button getting out.

I believe they are electric and sense your touch. No need to actually push.

This. There is no movement it’s touch sensitive so don’t be smashing them down with force lol

I've noticed they are not very good at picking up when I'm touching sometimes.

My old focus ST was much more user friendly

You guys are definitely not alone on this one! I've thought the same thing about mine. I've tried just touching it (which doesn't seem to make it work all the time) and I've also tried pushing it, which ironically, seems to make it work consistently. I guess it's just the weirdness of the truck!??!

I tested mine out yesterday after reading this. Mine locks just as my finger touched. Really zero pressure.

Yep. Simple touch of the finger. No pressure applied.

I’m going to try cleaning them and washing my fingers more often to see if it helps. ?

It seems like mine don't work immediately after I've shut the door, but if I touch them after the door has been shut for a few seconds they work fine.

It sucks though, because its inconvenient to just stand there waiting. I gave up and just started using the fob.

Hit the lock button on the inside of the door panel as you step out. Easy peasy

So I've been adjusting my use of the door button and using very light pressure. That seems to have resolved it. I guess I was carrying over my style from the 2018 F150 I had where you had to give those buttons a firm press.

I don't like to do that because you could lock the keys in the truck if you accidently left them in the console or something.
