My father in law is looking to move from an F250 to a F150.

I’ve suggested he look at a PB since he lives in the country.

he’s concerned about a couple reviews about the brakes having “problems” moving from vacuum based to electric.

What’s been your experience with the electric brakes and their feel and responsiveness?

The brakes on my F150 feel pretty good. Hopefully it will be a reliable system.

I have experience with the WABCO system on Range Rovers and that is very reliable. It will even work when the engine is off unlike a vacuum system.

I also have experience with the Bosch system from the late 80’s to mid 90’s that uses a nitrogen charged hydraulic accumulator and it sucks. The motors burn out, the accumulators fail and even when working perfectly the braking is awful, it’s found on some European cars and the incredibly shitty Buick Reatta.

My truck stops when I press on the brake pedal so they're working.... ;)

I have no issues with the brakes on my PB. They feel slightly different than standard brakes, and modulating them helps with regen, but the truck stops fine. Honestly, they feel very similar to the brakes on my old 2018 F150 FX4.

They work great for me, the only difference I have notice is at very very slow speeds. Like 1 or 2 mph, seems to take just a little bit more break pressure. Totally use to the slight difference now.

Little difference. I have no issue with them. Still have to get use to engine cutting back on from electrice mode. All in all loving it and especially the ride quality.

I have a PowerBoost with the Max Tow package (bigger rear brakes). The brakes stop the truck *very* effectively (it feels like it stops very quickly). The brakes have pretty good feel, too.

I had an F250 and after that an F450. Just got the F150 Powerboost two days ago. Brakes seem very good to me, maybe a little different but very good. Compared to my F450 the F250 brakes seemed pretty weak but from what little I’ve driven the F150 I’m impressed with the brakes.

I have no issues with the electric brakes. It also regenerated electric for the batteries.

Brakes work very well, I have been towing an 11,000 tailer with no issues. The brakes do require more pressure than a smaller car, but that could just be a general truck thing.

Ya same here on pressure. I feel like with hydraulics, after a full stop there isnt as much pressure needed to maintained stops.

With my Powerboost I need to keep it all the way to the floor otherwise truck starts to creep forward.

I'm having issues with my 21 powerboost after only 1200miles. Completely lost brakes while driving, the dealer replaced the booster and a few other items and the truck is now at the 3rd visit due to the same issue.
