ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I’m considering buying the nano and updating the modules myself to get Alexa integration. Is there a way to know ahead of time, which modules may need updating?

I have 2021 job 1 powerboost hybrid 1FTFW1ED5MFB77138. BC was dealer installed on 2nd attempt 6/14/22. dash still has tach. still have not confirmed BC working because there are no supporting roads in my area. Dealer did not install 11 updates and no OTA updates received before or after. Dealer and FORD refuse to schedule or do remaining updates. I asked Ford to warrant 48 hr license for FDRS so I could install updates myself but they refused. Really feel bad about that. Current odometer 2304. My only alternative is to buy 2 day lic. I would like to keep the tach. Does anyone know if any, or which, update causes tach to be lost and display changed to hands free? I am hoping there are no more updates than the 11 that remained on 6/14.

I had my truck in to the dealer in June to try and get it unstuck from 1.7.1 and they failed. They made a bunch of excuses and said they would call me when they got the right equipment. So last Monday, a week ago, I took it in and they have had it now for almost 2 weeks. I ended up following this thread and updating my truck on my own. It's a dam shame that ordinary people are able to accomplish these updates in their own driveway and these under trained inept dealer technicians can't do it.

It’s definitely a testament to the reason why people are skeptical of dealers and their service departments. In my opinion, this skepticism is well earned over many decades and they continually perpetuate it.

There are good dealerships out there who face the collateral damage of these types of dealers and if you can find a good one, keep them even if it’s a bit more out of your way.

I screen-recorded Ford's online tutorials for FRDS as a 101 so new users here can understand what it has to offer. Just have to edit it down to something manageable which will be a weekend project. I will probably keep it off YouTube to avoid any DCMA drama or upload it as a reaction-to video or something. One thing for certain; this is how I will visualize every Ford PCM from now on

I see they did the rest of those updates, you currently have none showing as available.

Thank you, Mike. I purchased the license at 12:51 today and did the remaining updates myself. It took less than 2 hours, all were canbus-and I still have the tach. I am now even more baffled by the behavior of Ford and the dealer. This was not difficult and pretty quick, especially since I had to use a mobile hotspot! The dealership could have done this easily and Ford could have approved it. I have been a long time Ford owner but I am now beginning to rethink that.
