I am having a no GPS issue today after everything was updated. Has anyone seen this?
There is at least one update that has caused that for me on two occasions and both times it was the APIM. A reset done in FDRS sorted it out. Also an overnight shutdown will likely sort it out as well.

Wait, what? Both nodes F113 and F188 updated with this release? That is interesting.
This update was not listed for me last week and showed up today. It does update to the BB version of the software....and coincidentally is the same version of the software on my Lightning.

What reset did you use in FDRS? Maybe I used the wrong one since the TSB was not real clear about that part.

I can’t say about the Trm. I have lost control of it at this point. I was told by a good source that it wasn’t out. This update has been out for a while now on the 22 trucks and was explained to me that it was for the alarm trigger extension. Why it was only now released I couldn’t tell you: for d screwed this whole thing up from the moment it was announced.

My source is at ford. So who knows. Maybe they were misinformed also. My goal is to not misinform and I won’t say unless I’m sure. I was given the utmost certainty that BB was not the fix. Since now it’s been released to other trucks I have no idea anymore. At this point it’s best to just install it and if another one comes install it too.

The problem will be for those that have supposedly had the recall done and cleared. The dealer won’t install updates unless there is an issue. I have scoured fords pages and I have access to dealer level information. I can’t find anything that pinpointed a actual release date or anything that specified what the file was.

Ford screwed this so badly I don’t know they could do it any worse than they did. End of day if I was wrong I’ll take that. It wasn’t intentional.

It will be interesting to see if those that install it notice any better brake performance. I can imaging it’s hard to have a lot of confidence not knowing what the actual fix is.

Hopefully ford releases some guidance soon because they really, REALLY F***** this up big time.

Thanks Jesse. I mostly tow one Airstream trailer. I have the Airstream wired so that the electric brakes see either the 7 pin brake line (from the Ford trailer module) or the Tekonsha P3 brake output line from the Tekonsha controller mounted under the dash.

The Airstream is currently configured (hardwired) to the Tekonsha controller. I am going to keep it in that mode until we hear back from our "Ford test pilots" whether the BB update works or not. Given the history of this issue I have low confidence BB update is the answer. Hope I am wrong.

I just selected the APIM module and did the reset twice like in the procedure for BlueCruise.

We won't likely ever know the real story of what really is going on in the halls and conference rooms regarding.

There IS an explanation. And I bet it's got an irritating thread of red-tape in it. Or put another way, if the small group of insiders that actually have the skillset to resolve these kinds of things had the autonomy to just do so, things would just get done.

Similar to this thread. Compare the truck owner experience of the person who just orders the Mongoose and plugs in and follows directions (taking matters into their own hands. Purist form of autonomy) to the owner who repeatedly stands in front of a service writer and hands his keys over and has ZERO autonomy over what happens after the truck is driven out of sight.

The latter STILL is waiting for..... Well, everything. The former is driving around watching all the amazing tech on their Instrument Panel and Sync Screen.

well I tried one last time before my licence expires to do the TSB 22-2150 using a new USB cable. Still getting a fastboot error. Gotta give up on that and return everything, I am guessing I need a new APIM if you just can't get past that step

You don’t need an apim. You just have to wait like others did for the usb to kick off.

Yup I will just leave the USB plugged in and wait. Hopefully it is within a couple of weeks because I have an appointment for the dealer to try again on June 3rd but I am sure they won't make out any better than I did

Who knows maybe they will have an idea at that point. The issue remains the same though. Even if they get through the fastboot process the usb update still has to be installed. The only difference will be they won’t wait a month for the update to kick off.

Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately, it’s a little disappointing. The more significant nodes—significant in the sense that they’re the ones saved in the as-built data—are F110, F111, F113 and F188. It would appear that the new release updated only node F188, going from -BA to -BB. The others are unchanged, contrary to what I thought was reported earlier.

-BB by itself is not significant from what I can tell. It’s not new. It was released about the same time as -BA in late February, but it seemed only trucks with later hardware revisions got it. Why Ford is now rolling it out to more/all trucks is unclear. But I remain skeptical that software released in late February is a fix for a problem that Ford did not formally confirm and authorize field action for until March 18.

However, I agree with @Jesse-Infotainment that it’s probably worth installing. If it isn’t installed, it will likely block notification of future updates as long as it remains in the queue. But my expectations are low as far as the trailer brake problem is concerned. I won’t be rushing to my dealer. If anything, I’ll just install it myself and let the recall stay on the books until Ford straightens this mess out.

Yeah. F113 is quite a bit different on the Lightning. The prefix (ML3T) is F150-specific. The prefix for node F113 for your ‘21 (MU5T) is generic and it’s the same before and after this weekend’s update.
