What you wondering Steve?

You'd be miserable with a Job2 2022

There's no reason to even have an FDRS license or a mongoose. Lol

Thanks Mike,

Updating all but BCM. On the TCU as the last update. Everything went fine but the “validate software update” process is taking FOREVER! It’s been 20+ mins now with the USB back in the computer.

I'm assuming you have the truck on a high output battery charger?

But there's a PCM update for mine and even though the truck is running great with excellent mileage it's killing me knowing there is an update of some kind.

It could be anything. It could even be a boat!

So the TCU went through fine. Popped up a CCM update after.

I already have full BC functionality. Any idea what this CCM update delivers? I am using a Nano so I’m not going to touch it.

I didn't mean to throw you Steve.
Obviously my humor failed miserably.

I had a 2021 Powerboost and discovered this thread the day Iceman birthed it. Fast forward a bit and I had applied 24 updates to the truck.

Then I bought a 2022

Haven't needed FDRS in months since I bought it.

Yet I still have license and mongoose

So as being the guy who brought the bad BCM update to light and had to have my truck towed. I have since been contacted twice by the dealer asking a lot of questions, but was told that Ford engineers are now involved. Really hoping that my truck doesnt get torn apart from them blindly throwing parts at it till something works. First phone call they told me that they thought it was the Gateway Module and without saying too much I said maybe it's the BCM. They would need to take the dash apart to get to the GWM! Jesse if I could just take my truck back and give you a second try..lol. Hopefully my mistake has stopped others from losing their trucks.

I haven’t read too much into the bad BCM posts yet. I’m in the process of learning about it.

I’ve brought APIM’s back from the dead before and there are a few tricks that could be tried in a last ditch desperate effort to revitalize seemingly brain-dead ECU’s.

If the module can be detected in ForScan there is still hope. A GWM reset might be needed to detect it first.

With dead APIM’s my bag of tricks include, network reset, module reset, force rewrite all current as built if possible, and the very last step if all else fails is force write an alternative firmware and calibration strategy from a very similar vehicle type like a Super Duty; sometimes kicking an ECU with intentionally different firmware will bring them back to life even though reverting to an older known-good firmware fails. Don’t ask my why. It’s a trick user ACool taught me a while ago.

Changing the firmware is a very bad idea I only recommend to someone who has nothing to lose and has exhausted all other possible troubleshooting alternatives.

FRDS is limited by trying everything the proper way. ForScan is better for last ditch problem solving before ripping the cab apart to replace a module.

Can someone please check my vin
1FTFW1E55MKE42365

My APIM was replaced

My IPMA was updated to take care of the reverse brake assist warning

My trailer brake control module was updated

Received Ford PowerUp update for Customer Satisfaction Program 21B37 (power train control module to solve a possible non-start issue)

Want to see if those were removed from available update list

Thank you

Fixed my third BCM a few mins ago. I know I could fix @pjgnall at this point. he was the first and it caught me flat footed I have a solid plan now.

FDRS fixes it fine. If you know what to do
