In ECO mode there's a built-in driving coach. It's the green chunk with a v-notch on the speedo. With easy acceleration and deceleration the white line stays at the notch. Accelerate too quickly the white line goes above the notch. Decelerate too quickly the white line goes below the notch. If either condition exists the green chunk begins to fade to black. I don't know if it will disappear completely as I have not tested this to the extreme.

I just figured this out today. If you knew this already, well then, πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘. I have a Powerboost. I don't know if this mode and feature exists on non Powerboost trucks.

I have one on my XLT, so even us common folk can β€œsave” the planet. I truly tried it for a few months, but I always felt like I had to press harder to keep up with traffic, and when I do the speed limit on the freeway(70), it goes away.

You can also enable that view in normal mode if you wish.

That green chunk can be on NORMAL mode's speedo? How so? I've not found that setting.

I'm reminded of the days when folks interested in training their throttle-foot for best mileage used an analog vacuum gauge (aka 'econometer') and tried to 'keep it in the green'.

Showing my age .....

had the red and green light on the 1979 caddy seville 350 fuel inj engine
it was in the red almost all the time, 1979 was not a good year for HP in a 350

When I let my 16yr old daughter drive the truck, it goes into eco and I bring up the little coach to help her. I wish we could default to a particular driving mode.

In the instrumentation cluster menu. Under settings I believe, it’s called eco coach. If you enable that it will show up in normal mode.

Yeah, I know about that. I don't use it. What I'm talking about shows up only in the speedo.

It's the naughty-meter. I have it enabled, though I often ignore it.

The gauge is now digital. At least it was on the truck that I rented last year.
