I bought a fully loaded 2021 KR with the 360 camera, etc. I have visible parking assist sensors on my rear bumper, but none visible on the front. But I know that a front camera is used when using the lane keeping system / adaptive cruise control. And the Ford manual lists a “front parking aid” if equipped and even “side parking aid” if equipped. Is that what comes with the 360 camera? Because I can’t seem to locate any front sensors and don’t hear any beeping when I slowly approach something in front of me.

Adding page from owners manual, if this helps:

I have a XLT 302A and have visible front parking sensors. I think if you can't see them, you don't have them...

I guess my real question is whether the truck will alert me if I slowly approach an object in the front. I can’t imagine they’d take away a safety function on a higher priced model.

Or maybe they just expect me to eyeball it with the 360 camera? If so, I’d hate to have to push the camera button every time (unlike in reverse, when it automatically turns on).

Unfortunately, on Lariat and above, you do not get the parking sensors unless you have active prep. I am in the same boat with my Lariat. There is another post on parking sensors.

Frick, that’s the one option I passed on so I could buy one off the lot. Guess I’ll be using that camera button every time.

Me too! I was disappointed. Funny, xlt with co-pilot 360 gets the sensors. Here is the other post.

I also was disappointed, I thought I was getting them till it was asked somewhere else. I really didn't want the prep thing at $900 for roads that we will not see in my area for sometime I'm sure.

Oh well, it is still a great truck though.

You are going to have to use your eyes with the front emblem camera. The 360 camera I believe uses 5 cameras on the truck. One at the front, two on the side mirrors and two on the rear bumper. I was in the same situation in ordering my truck, wanting the front warning system. But this required me to add the active2.0 prep package, a $1,350 option.

I ordered my 501a pkg with co-pilot 360 assist 2.0 which cost $750 and $765 for 360-degree camera package. My truck has the front sensors on the bumper. Don't know why ford just doesn't just put these on of all trucks, hard to see how close you are to something with out the use cameras.

basically, if you have to pay for the assist 2.0 then it comes with the sensors. If you don't because it is included with a package (like Lariat 502a for example) then you have to pay for the prep 2.0 to get the sensors. So Lariat 501a gets sensors with assist 2.0, xlt 302a as well. Lariat 502a and higher come standard with assist 2.0 so you need to buy the prep 2.0 to get them. Really dumb
